    Shute Shield 2017

I'm hoping Gibson is watching this. North's play a game based around speed, skill and support. He's bringing Cron onboard next season. He'd be wise to use him to develop the Tahs along the same lines.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Only if they play out of Parramatta Stadium.

Fulltime domestic Women's Sevens Competition from 2017

Hopefully that is accompanied by expanding the overall schedule to include more events as well. Would have been fantastic if they'd managed to get on TV.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, the NRC did actually see both grow in attendance and viewership last season. Albeit from a relatively low base. Crowds were up 10% while viewership per game was up 23%. Considering the NRC as a competition is poorly marketed but has still seen this growth there could be a case for...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Has got to happen yet. They've been working on getting a Fijian team in the NSW Cup for the last three years to no avail. Meanwhile despite all the dysfunction at the ARU we've managed to announce and from this year welcome a Fijian side into the NRC. That said. Yeah, let's get that Fijian Super Rugby...

Okay. So that's the Western part well and true done for.

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

Will be interesting to see the final breakdown of the 5 year study Randwick has been participating in.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

    I'll admit it's a bit of a concern.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

There's certainly that threat. But I see a lot of opportunity. Particularly for us. Asia is a huge and underdeveloped market for the game. With Super Rugby seemingly on its way out I think we could potential pivot our focus to the region. I think we could develop a new competition working with NZ, Japan...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Oscar (Idea) Kolinsau the Fijian Gold Medal winning 7s captain has signed for the Houston Strikers for MLR 1 set for next April. The guys behind the initial NYC Pro 12 have just launched RC NY. Still a fair amount of speculation on where this team will play but considering they withdrew their...

    Super 9s

    Haha.........I somehow don't think that's what we'll see.

    Super 9s

Samoa are launching a Super 9s franchise competition. It's Rugby not League. Does anyone know how Rugby 9s would even work.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I really don't see the issue. Just mandate that 75% of each squad must be Aus eligible. In a squad of 35 that's 26 places. Same for the NZ franchises.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The most likely scenario will be a re-orientation of Super Rugby to a more Asia-Pacific focused competition. But that still doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking at alternatives. Putting all your eggs in the TT basket isn't the most sound strategy imo. We should look at a 6 team competition involving us...

Fulltime domestic Women's Sevens Competition from 2017

Yeah, it's a solid strategy. Something that I think it is looking to build off for both the Women's 7s and the NRC is the sense of community engagement. Which is greater. More the merrier as far as I am concerned.

    NRC onwards and upwards

There's nothing wrong with TG Milner in terms of grounds at this level and of course it saves them money but it's just a hassle to get to from my perspective. What's also disappointing is that I read somewhere that there was the chance of one of the games being played out my way in Camden...

    NRC onwards and upwards

The Rams have reverted back the 'Greater" Sydney name but play exclusively in the Nth-West area. I know Eastwood bought the rights but they could spread the games around at least a bit.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You what I'd like to see. Feel free to disagree. I'd like to see the ARU look to sell the NRC as a structure to investors as a means of privatising the structure and looking to refocus it as a competition that is geared toward actually developing itself as a product rather than purely player...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It's called evolution. Foxtel has been focusing more and more on their streaming services in the face of increased competition. That will continue.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Poor performance is hurting Super Rugby at present but it's the very nature of the competition that allows for that to occur. Think about all our most popular leagues. The are all domestic. Wamberal mentions loss of brand recognition as a key issue which could be an issue but the biggest one is that...
