    Shute Shield 2017

Can anyone tell me the score of the TV game. Souths were up 19 to zip when I had to leave.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I've already mentioned that I am a fan of this but I was just thinking about the content side of things and how to address it. Well, here's a suggestion. Why don't we flip the windows for the NRC and Super Rugby? And the push the Test season back? Start the year with an expanded NRC run a full 14...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think they might be more open to a cut in content if it ensures higher overall ratings. This isn't too far from S12 in that it would be a 11week regular season. Plus three weeks of finals. The key would be in the marketing of the concept. Look to the likes of the BBL and the 7s circuit for...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

An update on this. It appears he is in fact set to buy Stade in the near future.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd be cool with using the franchise names as long as they also keep both the Country squads. There needs to be a balance between the ability to carry over branding and providing opportunity to new players. There's no reason as far as I can envision why both squads in NSW and QLD couldn't be run...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

According to a reliable USA Rugby media site United World Sports, the operator of the Las Vegas 7s and other 7s related properties, are set to make an announcement regarding their Super 7s concept. Super 7s is basically their idea to implement a 4 x 12min quarters structure in an attempt to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm not so sure about that. The Japanese teams have the resources to recruit fairly competitive sides if they so choose. The Sunwolves don't because their goal is to benefit the national team by exposing and qualifying as many Japan eligible players as possible. But with say 5 teamss instead of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I've mentioned this on a few occasions but looking to Asia should be looked at as a serious option. Particularly with 2019 rapidly approaching. Our 5 plus the top 5 from the Top League. Played during the Top Leagues traditional window. I think that would provide us with a solid competitive...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yes, but to call it professional would be very generous.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's the key. Providing the content to justify the cost. Which I tend to think could be done. Hell, I'd pay $20/month for access with little issue. I use Foxtel Play to access Super Rugby and that's $45 a month. So $20/month would be much better value providing they can provide the quality and content.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I've been a fan of a 'direct to consumer' model for some time. But the key will be committing to the model to ensure the content is present and the quality required to determine value is achieved. But there's no reason why it couldn't be done. The NBL does it and our game makes Basketball...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

On twitter recently there was an article by some sports data company suggesting that there are 2.1m Rugby fans in Australia but only 800k so being fans of Australian teams. Not knowing the metrics used in gathering the data there does appear to be a reasonable market in which to direct such a...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Actually the ABL had all its funding stripped out of it by the MLB in favour of funding academies. But yeah, Ice Hockey does have a national semi-pro league. The AIHL. I tune into their live streams quite regularly.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

I mentioned above about whether this was the beginning of a trend moving forward. Truth be told for a national club championship to evolve it was always going to require several clubs stepping up and in essence elevating themselves above the status quo. I would not be happy at all and will...

They might just as well change the name to Eastwood. There'd be little difference.

Well, then that would be me done and dusted with them.

    Rugby 7s general chat

To be fair Wellington really didn't fit in with any of those either.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

I think they should also continue to play out of Concord Oval. While even that is a bit of a stretch to declare as 'Western Sydney' playing out of TG Milner would be seen as taking the piss by many in the region.
