Your rambling post makes no sense. Why would we need something beyond a Womens NRC? Why cannot be the pinnacle for the Womens game? The representative structure of the Womens game isn't exactly the same as Mens.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Then you've been missing out of some bloody good footy. As for an audience both crowds (10%) and viewership (23% per game) grew last season. It still has a long way to go but there is solid growth in the concept.

I think you must have missed pretty much every game. I enjoy club Rugby but the standard in the NRC is higher. As for the 90%. That comes from the player survey conducted after last years competition.

The WBBL easily out rated anything either Super Rugby or the A-League could muster. Alongside the WAFL game you allude to anyone suggesting there isn't the interest or demand are way off. As a side. Years ago I actually wrote a piece and posted it on The Roar about the very subject of the Women's game...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Looking at that I have to say. I cannot see any part of the English lads leg touching the ground which suggests that it apparently looks to be one hell of a try. Which sucks for our boys. Edit: Just watched the highlights. It was a try. He got it done just before his knee hit.

Working toward greater engagement among young girls and women isn't a bad thing. Nor do I think it would adversely impact upon the development of the game in any negative way at all. In fact, quite the opposite I suspect. It doesn't take a feminist to realise that. Ultimately I couldn't care...

    Shute Shield 2017

Which makes me wonder whether this move on their behalf is preemptive.

    Shute Shield 2017

I actually think that could be workable under this model as well. There were 8 teams in the recent Women's Nationals. You could use those and expand the schedule or cut say SA and the ADF teams or something along those lines. Most of those would line up with the men's competition in terms of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Rip the band aid off. No point letting it fester. It's why I have suggested the inclusion of the Top League teams. We need to re-align with Asia leading into 2019. Japan offers a far larger market than the Pro 12 and SA combined. Ideally, we'd see the Jaguares look to follow SA to Europe...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Honestly, if three go then all 6 should.

    Shute Shield 2017

The NRC has been moved back in order not to overlap. I think it depends on whether the NRC remains viable. If not, then this should be seriously looked at. It could be enough to draw BuildCorp back to the table (didn't they sponsor the Aust. Club Champs?) to sponsor it to mitigate the cost...

You could even use the basic Super Rugby set up for the women's. NSW, Qld, ACT, Vic and WA. Five squads and 8 games. If they really want to push it then add SA as well. As a means of keeping the costs down go the FIFO model. It would need to start off largely amateur but should include a business...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Actually, if SA looks to make the jump in 2020 then hopefully they will take Argentina with them to compete in the Pro 'Whatever'. We could then have our Asia-Pacific competition with 6 from Aus (our 5 plus Fiji) 6 NZ (their current 5 plus a Samoan side or combined Sam/Tongan) and 6 from...

What would be the costs of running such a competition alongside the NRC? Travel, accommodation and meals? It would need to be purely amateur to begin with. More about opportunity. I actually don't think it would be all that prohibitively expensive. Could even set it up as fly in/fly in for most...

The women's nationals were held quite recently. There's no need to try and re-invent the wheel. A womens NRC could very easily be formed using those squads. They could easily play before the NRC games.

    Shute Shield 2017

I'd support a club based alternative in so far as it's all inclusive. That being has representation from Sydney, Brisbane, ACT, Vic and WA. Say the Top 4 from Sydney, Top 3 from Brisbane, the Vikings from ACT and a rep squad or such from both Vic and WA. Allow each of the clubs that qualify to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The 18 team Super Rugby format you just floated is and should have the format SANZAAR chose from day one of this clusterf@#k.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd keep it at the current 7 plus Fiji. Fourteen week regular season plus two weeks of finals. Short break before Super Rugby and then a 10-11 (conferences would Aus/Jap, NZ/Arg and SA) Super Rugby reg. season with top 2 from each conference going through to the finals which would run for 3 weeks. The NRC would...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There was a suggestion back on pg 318 that would cut Super Rugby down to 14 weeks in total by playing the entire regular season in conference before the top 2 moved on to the finals. I then suggested re-organising the season to run the NRC during the current Super Rugby window and the Super Rugby in what would be...

Cheers. Hell of a turn around from Uni. Wasn't looking flash early on.
