Reading the HKRFU statement over on TWF it doesn't appear that he has any involvement.

    2021 Women's World Cup

And with that you have crushed a budding bromance.

I'm willing to bet good money if the Kobe Steelers aren't the Japanese in GRR that he'll end in either HK or Singapore.

With a RWC coming up surely a player like McMahon would at the very least be hinted and wanting to be Wobs eligible. So unless RA opens up eligibility to players in GRR he'd likely be looking to end up at the Force.

Sport evolves. Rugby certainly has been through its lifespan. Most often glacially but still it has evolved. GRR might offer an opportunity for some trial and error on concepts that are designed to make the game more viewer friendly particularly to new and emerging markets. The key will be to...

No as that could actually be dangerous in regards to the scrum.

:) Nice in theory but probably unworkable in many current stadiums.

In the video it is actually stated that they want to remove players from the defensive line and this could be one way they envisage doing that. I guess we'll have to wait and see in that regard. The removal of the mark in the 22 could be problematic. What I really don't want to see is aimless...

Perhaps. Hopefully that translates into smarter kicking with the option of just punting it out on the full taken out of the equation. Not super enthused about the 40/22 option.

Didn't the NRC use the 2 point penalty in its first season which resulted in a lot fewer kicks for goal.

The involvement of both Fiji and Samoa are the big ones for me. Some have held for some time that Rugby hasn't placed enough value on the region. Overlooking the disproportionate funding investment, this competition has the potential to fundamentally altered the flow of talent out of the PI's in...

I was thinking they'd go more for 30 min halves to fit in the 90 minute broadcast window but clearly they don't want too much fluff in the lead in or post match.

Yeah, thought that name was a bit clunky to be honest. Just go with Hong Kong. Would much prefer that than South China. Purely because while geographically relevant for a sports team it seems pretty ambiguous.

    I missed that. Cheers.

So would I. The opportunity to attend 10 (including the 3 Tahs games) professional Rugby games in a more central location relative to where I actually live would have been awesome.

Forrest also alludes to the unnamed prospective backer of the proposed WS. What I find interesting is that they mention 14 rounds but only 7 squads. That's including the Japanese team. Hawaii was reported to be on board but aren't on that list.

    No just those three.

I'd go as far as to suggest they are for all essentially purposes officially confirmed. Dan Carter, Sean McMahon and Duane Van Meulen all received specific mention as well.

And a not so subtle call out of G.Robinson's usage of Rebel League and serious shade thrown at a number of the Rugby establishment over this way. But praise for Castle. When I saw the 90 minutes broadcast statement a couple of weeks back I was wondering how'd they manage it with an 80 minute game.
