    Rugby News from unexpected places

Apparently that figure is outdated and they have distributed 33k tickets for the game. Most purchased with the possibility of 40k which would be amazing and will make the 60K stadium look more full. The Chile game is apparently close to a sell out as well albeit in a smaller 15k venue.

Over 23k tickets sold for Brazil vs NZ Moari. With kids U12 free they could top more than 30k for the game which will be a very good result for the Brazilian Union.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Likely. Unless they think there's opportunity in opening it up to the likes of NZ.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Pretty much. If they can get the package right they could essentially finally achieve the levels of market penetration they've coveted for some time now.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, the obvious advantage of this is the removal of the need to bundle it with other packages.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Whether its expensive or not depends on your sporting preferences. For my it's pretty good value in terms of being able to watch Rugby, Cricket, American Football, Ice Hockey etc. It's also no lock in so that's even better. You can come and go as you please. It's not ideal yet in terms of...

International and I've seen Premiership Rugby on it. You also get access to the live sports channels which have Top 14 via BeIn Sports.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Has live and on demand streaming as well as access to the standard live channels offered over on Foxtel/Now. Yep. I think I might be cancelling my Foxtel Now subscription.

Owned by. Rather is Foxsports. They've been talking about their intent on launching such a service and this is it from the looks of it.

    Global Rapid Rugby

I'd be willing to bet they'd be looking at The 7s in Dubai as the location and looking to leverage the large expat communities that exist there. The interesting ones for me are both India and China.

Apart from having 300+ teams and over 40k registered players.

There’s the KL Soccer Stadium which seats 18k.

    Global Rapid Rugby

What I find most interesting is the Hawaii group already being committed and Malaysia being on board. Not a surprise on either as the Hawaii group have been looking at getting involved in Rugby for some time. But Malaysia entering in 2019 is. From memory they are working to get professional...

    Global Rapid Rugby

Interestinglt the map detailing locations still has NSW on it. But its been mentioned several times about as many as two Japanese teams being involved. So may be them.

On the site it says 6-8 so you'd imagine they are working towards 8 rather than just the six.

All they need to do is look to stop the clock on lineouts and scrums. That would drastically increase ball in play time as technically it would be in play constantly.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Bad managers are for sure. Good ones see the impeding implosion and then work to get everyone on board to effect actual change.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm not against the idea of a 'World League'. In fact I wrote about it as a T2/3 structure run bi-annually. But I think this concept is too narrow and ill-conceived. Just 12 nations doesn't offer much at all in terms of differentiation from the status quo and running it annually seems like...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Ontario re-branded to Toronto has been officially announced for next season. It's been a given they were entering for some time but there was a whole other tax layer involved and both their owners and the MLR wanted to take as much time as needed to ensure that is was taken care of. DC have...
