    Proposed Nations Championship

I think they could look to expand the RC in terms of teams. Depending on how they go at the RWC both Japan and the USA will be in the top 12 teams in the world.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

You can move it back using the mouse on the progress bar and you move it back a frame if we want to. They could do with adding in a rewind function. And you can pause of course.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

There's no need to record. The games are put up for viewing immediately after the live coverage finishes to view at any time you feel like it.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Yes. As far I can see they are.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Yeah, it's $25/month for the basic package that allows you to stream on two devices. You get the Gallagher Premiership and Internationals. I haven't seen any Top 14 but as you get access to Foxtel's sports pack you could find it there.

    Proposed Nations Championship

I've read that in several articles. Still needs to happen though.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Yeah, if they do look to set up some kind of revenue share on the gate I suspect that will be the point where things begin to get a little bit more complicated and much of the enthusiasm will begin to cool. The only way around that is if the TV money on offer is tempting enough to make that look...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Like I've said, I'm not opposed to the concept. But I think the 12 team 1st division is a little too narrow. I'd prefer it to be a 16 team 1st division broken into four pool of 4 playing over a two year period. The first year would be home and away in the pools and the second would be split into...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Pretty sure revenue sharing is actually part of the deal. I'm not sure how it would break down though. Broadcasting is a given but gate will be a whole other question.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Probably because the money suggests so. Which makes sense considering this is essentially a cash grab. Hosting the finals up north would mean bigger overall audiences and thus more of that sweet, sweet broadcast money. I'm not fundamentally opposed to the concept just in the particular structure...

    Waratahs 2019

Plenty make metres in contact. It doesn't need to be 5-10m a time. Just beyond the advantage line and allowing the next phase to be on the front foot. What the Tahs have now is forwards starting from a stationary position receiving the ball and practically dropping to the turf at the first sign...

    Waratahs 2019

Yeah, it's because they don't play their size is why I don't consider them as big forwards. When I say big I mean guys who can bend and at times break the line. Simmons does it on rare occasion (bend the line) while Staniforth is utterly useless.

    Waratahs 2019

What annoys me about the light and mobile thinking is that it doesn't mesh with traditionally dominant packs. I'm not saying everyone of the 8 needs to be some kind of monster but the best packs find a balance between size and mobility. The Tahs would be better served with two larger locks to...

    Waratahs 2019

Trim about 20kg off him and he'd become a lot more mobile. Still quite large. Which will likely hurt his prospects in a Blue jersey.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

I understand there are commercial realities to the equation and it remains to be seen if it's sustainable. Much of the expenses outside of player payment will fall on GRR itself from my understanding and I cannot see their wage bill being as large as others due to a number of factors. But...

    Waratahs 2019

Raw size and athleticism is another factor. And while he has Skelton-esque dimensions Meafou is more explosive.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Why bother then? They should just accept their place and be happy with it, right? Yes, they do have a third world economy but they also produce more professional players per capita than anyone else. All without the huge economies of scale, sports academies and proper stadia. They learn and...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Most squads run 30-35 deep. Those young players will just have to perform in the Fijian Provincial Championship to prove they have what it takes to make the squad. They could still go down the foreign route if they wanted to. But the point is the pathway is now there and its pretty clear. The...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Yes and no. Having a Fijian side in GRR will make earning a living from the game without having to move halfway across the world a fairly tempting option. Also having a league in the region that doesn't restrict players movement along national eligibility also allows for these players to stay...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Yeah. It will be interesting to see how things move forward with several nations. If both Russia and Spain can maintain their forward momentum they have the opportunity to join that grouping. You have Georgia who are already there. With MLR the US should cement their spot and Canada should see...
