    Wallabies 2021

Looks to me he has been carrying an injury that has hampered his pace. Was electric when he joined the Brumbies but last year and this he has not made the breaks through sheer pace that he did in previous years. Was just an ankle tap away from a clear break through the Force backline but super...

    Wallabies 2021

There is a lot of dislike for Tom Banks on these threads but he is extremely safe at fullback if not always spectacular. Hardly ever drops the high ball, his positional play is excellent, is a good defender and to top it off he is far and away the best at taking penalty kicks for touch in the...

Super Rugby RD 7 - Waratahs v Brumbies

Will Cusack be back this week? Looks like Brown might be out for some time. Scott might find he's starting. I understand Tom Wright will be back. Starting or off the bench?

Super Rugby Rnd 6: Waratahs v Reds

Purce, I think you might have unintentionally hit on the real difference between ASY (Angus Scott-Young) and Harris. ASY (Angus Scott-Young) does indeed bounce back to his feet and has a huge and effective workload. Harris pulls off a big play and then takes his own good time to regain his feet and just wanders back to the Tahs side...

    Wallabies 2021

Confucius, Rennie is quoted as saying Philip will be back. Like others I don't think we'll see Swain in the test side this year, but I reckon you are overly harsh about his form/skills. He does a ton of work in the tight, hits hard in defence and is the main organiser of the Brumbies maul in...

    Wallabies 2021

Still, potentially very light at LHP.
  8. Brumby Runner

    Wallabies 2021

Thanks, KOB. Should have seen some that I did pick up.
  9. Brumby Runner

    Wallabies 2021

As a squad, it looks a bit light on for LHPs and No 15s. Conversely, perhaps too many back rowers and wingers. Probably an indication of where some changes might occur next time around, along with hooker where there is a distinct absence of experience.

    Wallabies 2021

So, by position HOOKER : Kaitu'u, Lonergan, Mafi, Porecki LHP : Bell, Slipper THP : AAA, Faumasili, Tupou LOCK : Hosea, Neville, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Swain, Timani BACK ROW : Anstee, Kemeny, McReight, Naisarani, Samu, Swindon, Uru, Valetini, Wilson No 9 : Gordon, McDermott, White No 10 : Lolesio...

That would appear to be a problem. Why neither BPA nor FF (Folau Fainga'a) are there leaves me wondering. Uelese not so much given his injury history. Certainly an eye towards the 2023 RWC with so many 20 - 22yos. But good to see Neville recognised for his form the past couple of years.

Super Rugby Rnd 6: Waratahs v Reds

That's my concern too but have to say he stayed a lot straighter last night.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Surely Dan you don't actually believe something that's written in the newspapers? C'mon, none of the players named are really talking about blocking a deal until you hear from their own mouths.

Super Rugby AU Rd 6 - Brumbies v Force

Anstee certainly did look good the time he had on the field. Otoh, Timani was sent backwards a couple of metres almost every time he ran the ball.
  15. Brumby Runner

Super Rugby AU Rd 6 - Brumbies v Force

Brumbies attack was humming tonight, the defence was brutal. Taken as a whole, the Brumbies backline is the best in SRAu.

Super Rugby AU Rd 6 - Brumbies v Force

Notable, at least to me D, that their first win since returning was over your Tahs.

    Reds 2021

Last word on the subject, but just how long did Joe Moody (?) get away with his shenanigans before a GAGR expose brought it to notice?

    Wallabies 2021

Rennie is quoted as saying they will be picking the squad with the 2023 RWC in mind. Some of the younger players coming through, who won't play test this year but who might get a look in, include: Campbell, Hansen, Ralston, Harrison, Kemeny, Koteka, Blyth, Swain and Faumasili.

    Reds 2021

TSR, to be honest, it seems to be a very recent practice on TT's part. I don't recall him having this issue in previous years.
  20. Brumby Runner

    Reds 2021

You may well be right Sully, but right now it is TT who is most obviously at fault.
