Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

Hmmm. If consistent selections mean anything, the Rebels should be in this with a good chance of a win. Lots of change to the Brumbies lineup which seems odd to me with a bye coming up.

Super Rugby AU Rd 9 Force v Waratahs

OK, I think this is the game where the Tahs finally get a win. Across the board, I think they have a stronger starting XV and perhaps they will have lost the losing mindset that came with Penney. However, if they don't get a decent lead when the benches are emptied, the Force could come home...

Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

Does have a passing resemblance to Poey - facial rather than stature. Apparently plays a bit like him too. I just hope he can put some pressure on the ball at the breakdown and maybe pull off a pilfer or two. Something that hasn't been much in the Brumbies repertoire this year, or last.

    Wallabies 2021

Vefry insightful Wamb. Just where do you think Rennie might be severely at odds with that backline. I reckon it will be close to Test 1, although I would personally prefer Petaia on the wing in place of MK.

    Wallabies 2021

My current Wallabies selection: Slipper, Fainga'a. Tupou, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Neville, Valetini, McReight, Wilson, White, JOC (James O'Connor), Wright, Paisami, Ikitau, Petaia, Banks. Mafi, Bell, Ala'alatoa, Hosea, Samu, McDermott, Lolesio, Maddocks Hooper, Philip, Rodda etc to fit in depending on form when they return.

    Wallabies 2021

If Koroibete is on one wing, as most suppose, then it will be imperative for the other winger to have excellent kicking skills and the ability to play the second fullback role. IMO that is not Daugunu or (yet to be proven) Vunivalu. In those circumstances Petaia should walk into the other wing...

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

    1. Slipper 2. BPA (would have gone Fainga'a but for his dangerous no arms torpedo style tackle) 3. Tupou 4. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Swain close) 5. Neville 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Wilson 9. White 10. JOC (James O'Connor) 11. Wright 12. Simone 13. Flook (Kuridrani close) 14. Petaia 15. Banks Reckon we could do a lot...

    Experimental rules/laws.

Like most things new, Adam, I reckon the fans would have been supportive of the 50/22 last night because it was achieved by one of their own. As soon as an opposition player makes the same play, it will be criticised with calls for it to be binned forever. Just the nature of a large swathe of...

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

He most likely will be JGC. But you certainly are adept at introducing straw man arguments to the discussion. Nowhere did I say he is absolute shit. I have merely pointed out where I think he doesn't offer as much as Petaia and Wright on the wing at test level. And Andrew Muirhead has performed...

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

I disagree on Marika. He really doesn't offer as much assistance to his fullback as either of Petaia and Banks. And his one great strength is his running game, but even there he as often as not finishes up getting himself and his team into trouble by getting isolated near the sideline and then...

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

Best game from Wilson for some time, and right at the right time too. Looking good for the tests this year. Petaia also had his best game. I wouldn't be at all averse to seeing Petaia and Wright on the Wallaby wings. Both have excellent all round games when in form and both offer high quality...

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

Tom Cusack unfortunately is the weak link in the Brumbies side. No way was he in the class of McReight. Brumbies will continue to struggle against the Reds backrow while they don't play a pilferer to put pressure on the ball at the breakdown.

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

True, but my real concern is that with possibly an independent set of officials in TRC, the Wallabies will be penalised every time a scrum goes sideways the way the Reds like to scrum.

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

I have seen, and actually posted, some biassed posts in my time, but that one takes the all time cake.

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

C'mon KOB, the whole team should have been YCed for that. Fuck, I hate Berry - he really ruins a game with his one eyed dishing out of penalties.

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

No-one is likely to get To'omua's initials mixed up, and like I said he's been known as MT in rugby circles for a decade or more. Nobody I know calls Len Ikitau LI, let alone KI. And FD? Probably half the readers if they know him at all would think his name might start with P rather than F. But...

    Wallabies 2021

Not so weird Barbs when you consider he has been somewhat below par nearly all season. I reckon he'd still be an option at 12, but wouldn't have him in front of Paisami in any event. As a 10, he is falling way behind other options. JOC (James O'Connor) playing much better and both Lolesio and Harrison, maybe...

    Reds 2021

Hamish is one of the most over-hyped players in Super Rugby. Not saying he isn't Super quality. but he's shown me, and I guess most fans of other teams, nothing to support his consideration for a Wallaby spot. Simone, otoh, and whether you like him or not, has been called into the Wallaby PONI squad at...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Wouldn't be surprised if some of those only watching their favourite team will still have strong opinions about the makeup of the Wallabies.

    SRAU RD 8 - Reds v Brumbies

Who's KI? If it's meant to be Lenny Ikitau, then would be good to at least get the initials right. Very confusing to someone not so familiar with some of the players to just refer to them by their initials. No problem with MT for Matt To'omua for example as he's been known as that for years, but...
