I heard the other day that the young lock Buchanan who recently made Aussie schools is 6'9"!! If that's true, that is raw material worth hanging on to and developing.

    The Tahs 2009

I'm confused Scarfie. :nta: Big man on the outside would be Horne 12 and Tahu 13. Lee is suggesting the opposite, if I read it correctly.

    The Tahs 2009

Was discussing the possible line ups of the various teams in 09 with a colleague the other day and we both came to the conclusion that the Tahs backline will be pretty hard to match with: 9. Burgess 10. Beale. 11. Tuqiri. 12 Horne. 13. Tahu. 14. Turner. 15. Norton-Knight. I haven't got Tahu...

    Queensland Reds 2009

Well done to Brothers for knocking off a star studded Sunnybank side 36-27 in the Brisbane Premier Grade preliminary final yesterday! Lucas wasn't available for the Bank but they still had half a dozen or so Reds squad members on the paddock, so a mighty effort from the minor premiers.

LG - I think you are right because as a 10 he was behind To'omua and O'Connor for rep stuff last year, so converted to 12 because he was too good to leave out. He was injured early in last years tourney so you wouldn't have had a good chance to look at him. Anway's he has made the Qld touring...

Quade Cooper, Blair Connor, Dana Edwards and Brando Vaalu are injured and would probably have gone. Not sure about Daley and Fainga. Agree FOS - good to see Shaw and Schatz there - two longer term forward prospects that are worth developing. Jonno Lance is another kid who is worth keeping an...

Lee - Good to see young Matt making an impression in Sydney. He certainly knew how to control a game at junior level and like you I have no doubt he will be doing it at S14 level before too long. Can you remember the OZ A captain and number 10 from last year? Jonno Lance, son of Dean Lance of...

There's a story about Byrne's signing in the Courier mail accompanied by a photo. Looks like a big and tall lad. With Weekes how many props does that make? Edwards, Holmes, Daley, Weekes, Kennedy..Slipper is in the Academy and has already played Qld XV. Is Coutts still on contract? Agree with...

In local rugby Sunnybank, with most of the Reds back, annhialated GPS by more than 50 points in the 1st semi yesterday. They will be very hard to stop. Good win to Easts over minor premiers Brothers 32-16 in the major semi as well, and they now have a weeks rest while Brothers try to figure out...

Shit PB, what's he been tucking into at the dinnertable over there? I remember him being big but not that size.... What height is he out of interest? From memory he had a brother who played at 12. Has he progressed?

Sitaleki Timani - that's the giant I saw playing for the BaaBaa's a few weeks ago. I think Turbs made mention of him a few months ago. Watch for him next year.

Qld is undertaking a similar tour to the Force in August, but to Ireland. Some Academy players are being considered and I wonder if, like Turner at WA, young Swanepoel gets an invitation to tour? That's assuming he still has his Academy contract.

    Western Force 2009

Tom Murday is another Qld product who was OZ A Schools in 2006. Rangy with good skills but I wonder if he has put on any weight. Good chance for Flipper Manu to prove that he has some talent to go with that considerable size of his. Not sure why he never got a look in with the Reds? As for...

Is Felipe Manu the No. 8 from Souths in the Brisbane Premier comp?

One of the best schoolbay players I have ever seen. Totally dominated in the centres when he was at Churchie.

Does seem heavy on New South Welshmen, were there any Qldr's of note that year, or anyone else outside NSW for that matter?

Benny lucas shouldn't have any worries at 2nd 5/8 for club. How good does Sunnybank look on paper? Bit of a worry for everyone else.

Is Charlie Fetoai being groomed as a possible 13 option? Can't see anyone else slotting in at 13 at the moment. Blair Connor kills at club level but is his size more suited to wing at the top level? Harvey from Brothers is another possibility, as is Tapuai from the Academy. But they are...

LG, I've heard you make mention of Phil Waugh's excellent 97 team a few times. Out of interest who was in the team?
