Wallabies named for HK Bledisloe match

Still to look at the game properly but have to say that I thought it would be worse than 19 -14. Although having a look at the 1st half dominance it is another disappointing result.

Pocock, and maybe Hocking would have to be a selection if that was the case. Haylett-Petty is more a fullback than a wing.

Countdown to the Wallaby Euro Tour - The Inside Backs

Not the biggest fan of Giteau at 10 but prefer Barnes at 12. Hopefully Burgess is back on track and with a few games together as a combination they might just turn into something special as a combination. The tour will tell us a fair bit about where Coopers game has progressed to but thought...

Can't help himself can he, and he's not even a confirmed starter yet! Very annoying....

Countdown to the Wallaby Euro Tour - The Front Row

Slightly off topic but I sincerely hope that the same fate does not befall Dayna Edwards. Judging by last year he needs to take his fitness levels up a few notches. On Blake - hope he does turn the corner fitness wise and ups his work rate because he could be awesome.

RUGBY FEROCITY IS TAKING HUGE TOLL ON PLAYERS

Hard to work out isn't he?? The introduction of the league defensive coach in the 90's, probably introduced some of the 'brutality' that we see today. The thing is,as people point out, it is now a full time profession at the elite level, players are bigger, fitter and better coached, so the...

    Queensland Reds 2009

And now for the backs.... Halfback Lucas and Genia in the squad is a solid duo, with Lucas to push for higher honours in 2010. Brothers half McKibben was the club player of the year, went on tour, and is at Saracens for a few months, so looms as a good replacement option. Rounding out halfback...

    Queensland Reds 2009

As I've stated previously, a top half of the draw finish in 09 would be a bonus, but 2010 is really the year to look for big improvements. Apart from the invaluable experience a few of the rookies will get we could even see the return of the likes of Chapman and Mitchell. Hopefully Braid will...

    Queensland Reds 2009

Back to the Reds squad and 2009 and beyond. Most people have discussed the need for depth and looking through the squad I believe that is starting to appear. My take on the forwards: Front Row Holmes and Edwards will more than likely be starting and from what I hear, Sliiper and Anae are...

    Queensland Reds 2009

TOCC, Recruitment is a funny thing and probably not the easiest thing to get right. Without any freely available experienced outside backs to choose from in OZ, the Reds have gone for McLinden to complement the experience provided by Turinui, Hynes, and to a much lesser extent Cooper and Barnes...

    Queensland Reds 2009

Winston Stanley would be at least as far away from S14 standard as Blair Connor. The main criticism of Connor has been his size, but if the other Rabbit in WA is getting chances at elite levels then I don't buy into the argument as they are around the same size. Hw was the standout player at...

The MARC - 1 year on.

Still plenty on here who remember it clearly Tom. Point is boys, Qld were a distinctly better side than the Tahs in those days. But, I think we're all digressing....

    Queensland Reds 2009

Not sure what experience he has at 13. Very good 12 with excellent defence but as Ash says, the Reds are well catered to in that position. Turinui will do the job ok in 2009, whilst a Connor, Vaalu or Fetoai is developed to take over long term.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2008

Very magnanamous of you Lindommer. Cutter - I'd say you're right as the Rob Nowlan coaching up north is massive, and I am fairly sure is nicknamed Tiny. Anyway, regardless of where he's originally from he's done a great job of this years crop of schoolboys and has been a part of a very...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2008

Fairly sure he was the Qld 16's 10 last year, so not completely unknown. Chosen - you weren't the only one surprised when Quirk missed out initially. He is very highly rated in Qld.

Yeah, welcome aboard 12p. That might just be the first ever win in NZ, and that makes it two years in a row now. Outstanding!
