    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Not a bad team and won't disagree with any of the forwards proposed. Too many wingers in the backline though. I think Hynes is a solid S14 fullback but not test standard. Either AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) there, with Ioane to 13 and Hynes to wing, or JOC (James O'Connor) at the back, and Hynes to the bench. People talk about JOC (James O'Connor)'s...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Have to agree with your assessment of him as a schoolboy Topo. I thought he would be the goods by now and one of the young up and comers that everyone talks about, but if he has had major injuries then no wonder I haven't heard a lot of him.

    Blues v Bulls

Excellent game to watch. Forwards bashed the hell out of each other and some outstanding running rugby. Best game I have seen from Rokocoko in ages and thought Toeava was good at the back for the Blues. That Blues side is definitely a contender.

    Reds vs Sharks

Well done to the Sharks. They smashed the Reds in the tight stuff and put plenty of pressure on Genia. Those indiscretions are really costing the Reds. Are they the most penalised side in the S14? The pluses....two bonus points, Cooper was mercurial, Chambers ran some good lines at 13, and...

    Force vs Stormers, Perthfontein

My bad, maybe that was the crowd stat at the Canes/Saders game. Either way, stadium looked quite full and the crowd very enthusiastic.

    Hurricanes vs Crusaders Round 8

I thought the try off the quick lineout was a massive blunder. Not sure how anyone could have awarded that try at the end either. Heroic comeback by the Canes, and an entertaining game that they deserved to win. Conrad Smith just confirmed to me why he is my favourite 13 at the moment. Does...

    Force vs Stormers, Perthfontein

Well done Force!! It was a pretty scrappy affair IMO, but I was as happy as anyone when that dropgoal went over at the end. Dogged defence, a Stormers outfit who looked a little off the boil but what a great result for the team and their supporters! Did they say over 25,000 at the game? Good to...

    Hooper to start

Oh I don't know about that. If indeed the 'times are a changin'" then I will have to acknowledge that. The likes of Nucifora, O'Connor and Deans are far superior rugby brains than those of us that lurk anonymously on forums. My opinion was based on a good number of years of observation of an...

    QLD Club Trials

Went down to Bottomley Park yesterday to watch Easts take on GPS in a trial game. Not the best of games, final score 31-21 to GPS. The GPS forwards mullered the Easts pack in the set piece, and Easts must be looking forward the return of a few of their regulars. Second row looks like being an...

    Team versus Cheetahs

Could be a good game for Nadolo to see if he is up to it? Or even Betham? I also wonder how close McKibben might be to a run?

    Oz U20 team

I think the halfback question was probably answered last night with Swanepoel making an appearance for the Force. What has happened to Turner? There was also a question about locks. Maybe Ted Postal puts up his hand after appearing off the bench for the Force last night?

    Cheetahs v Reds. Bloem.

I'm a massive Cooper fan, but can't defend that trip. Very poor, and plain unacceptable at this Professional level. Good grinding win by the Reds, in fairly ordinary conditions. They look to have a bit of belief in themselves these days. Be good to get at least one more win in the Republic...

    Force v Bulls. Perthfontein.

Bold defensive effort by the Force, but their attacking options seem to be confined to the one guy, O'Connor. How many young guys were on the field towards the end? I think at one stage the Force had four teenagers on. Wow! Gee, that Spiers is one hell of an athlete.
