The Forces scrum has been one of the best and Robertson the only opposition to hold Tupou. That has something to do with Kaitu’u as well. Robertson has been more than holding his own at set piece and in general play. On the other hand Bell has been playing in a weak pack which has not progressed...

Both well deserved and both would be in a Wallaby 23 if picked today and most likely will be in the next side if fit.

Valetini has to be favoured to start, no? Hes been just crushing people on both sides of the ball and is getting up well in the lineout.

Did you see Valetini getting up at 2 on the weekend?

His game is limited, a bit up the middle with no finesse. His hands are not great and he tends to turn over a lot of ball. Hes a good eight man but far from our best. This and the last Wallaby coach seem to agree. Wilson looks an excellent prospect and has proven himself in test rugby already...

Kaitu’u and Uelese if fit. Both young and on the improve. Uelese has looked better the last two games than previously and his set piece is spot on.

A couple of things from the weekends games, which were excellent to watch and both very competitive. Donaldson looks like a decent prospect at 10. He appears to be more suited to test footy than either Harrison or Lolesio at this point. IMHO of course. Rebels looked good in parts but poor...

Super Rugby AU Rd 9 Force v Waratahs

Donaldson was solid at 10 with some nice touches. Perese was excellent again. He’s an angry lad though and is always on the edge and not far away from a card. Could be a Smokey for the Wallabies at 13.

Looking forward to seeing Anstee get a start at 6 rather than having a cameo at the back end of a game. Hope he goes well.

I reckon we will see Swinton start in that first test at 6. He, if he plays like he did for all but the last few seconds of his one test, provides exactly what the back row needs to balance it out. Physicality, lineout ability and grunt at the coal face. Valetini will be in the mix no doubt and...

Bring him back and give him a Super Rugby contract if he wants one and then see what happens. Of course his contract will have the standard behaviour clauses. Could be good for him?

BPA is not that good that we would be desperate to bring him back. A couple of the young hookers will come through in between now and the RWC. But they need size in order to be effective at test level. Latu is someone who would be worth pursuing.

    Wallabies 2021

Maybe. Outside to inside centre is not unlike wing to fullback. Banks(or Hodge before his injury) rightly should get first crack at it but I can easily see one of Wright or Petaia taking the opportunity if and when it comes. I hope to see Banks do the same. We need penetration from our...

    Wallabies 2021

Petaia usually does break the first tackle and/or get over the gain line. He can kick and kick well plus has a much better awareness of the players around him than most and can offload. Admittedly he needs to refine this area of his game, and others. His air game is developing and its pretty...

Yes, he’s amazing at Super Rugby level but he has been unable to duplicate that in tests. Half of those metres were in that intercept BTW. He played well last night.

Banks and Hodge are the obvious choices. Both relatively safe but Banks has shown nothing special at test level, in fact he has been ineffective in attack. We have a boat load of excellent wing options, a couple of which would make very exciting fullbacks. Wright and Petaia both have all the skills.
