It's pretty simple , be registered by a certain date and play the minimum number of games ( 6 for a regular season) and you qualify to play finals. It suits the QRU to parachute Reds' players into QPR finals who don't meet the requirements , both from a development and attracting spectators/...

Don’t get that in terms of Wests putting their best 15 on the field. Super Rugby starting relatively early , QPR quite late.
