Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

I can understand the whole train at sea-level, go up the day before thing if you're on a limited budget/schedule, but if the Wallabies have been in camp in a Sydney hotel, then I don't see why they didn't travel to Pretoria 2 weeks in advance to get fully acclimatised. Yet another baffling...

The guessing game: return of Vickerman

Undergrad law - starting my final year in October. Going to be a real shame to say bye to the place, absolutely love it.

The guessing game: return of Vickerman

Agreed. He's always been a true gentleman whenever we've spoken but I've heard that he's pretty quick to fire up. Case in point, Cambridge had the Varsity match all wrapped up with a minute or two to go, but Oxford crossed for a consolation try. While everyone else was celebrating, Vickerman was...

The guessing game: return of Vickerman

Very pleased to hear this. I'm at Cambridge as well and I've had more than a few (drunken) chats with him, telling him he should head back to Tah/Wallaby territory when he graduates, but I never thought he'd actually do it. Obviously, he's a huge asset to Aussie rugby - a big, experienced lock...

Front Row Development - about time

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/teenager-powers-his-way-into-the-wests-frontrow-future-20100703-zuwg.html About bloody time. It's been said on the forum before that the ARU should scout out the biggest, hardest fatties in the land and convert them into props. As we've found out...

    What position did/do you play?

Two years of proper weight training and I've gained all of 10kg. Not a heavy, it seems.

    What position did/do you play?

Shot up in year 5 and I've played second row ever since. 19 now and a lanky 6'4" at 90kg, getting by mainly on fitness and being pretty light in lineouts - don't really have the bulk to play tight though, so I'm considering converting to the backs next season. Thoughts?

    Elsom and Friend row

Completely agree, everyone was singing his praises this time last year and hoping he'd get the Wallaby captaincy. One little rumour and all of a sudden he's disloyal, egotistical, out of form and a princess. Pretty bloody fickle.

    Reds v Bulls. Bris Vegas.

Agreed, was at Twickers in November and couldn't believe how well Genia and Cooper were passing. TV doesn't do it justice.

    George Smith to retire!!!

http://www.rugby.com.au/news/wallabies_2010/george_smith_retires_from_test_rugby,136180.html/section/21893 Genuinely gutted...the wallabies facebook page said it had a "major announcement" to make. This is the last thing I wanted/expected.

G&GR Wallaby of the Year: OZ vs Scotland

Almost did the same thing in one of the Italian tests - cut out three men and nearly botched a certain try. Over-fucking-playing his hand.

    Waratahs 2010

Was a couple of years below him at Barker. Big, quick and (at least at 1st XV level) pretty aggro. Haven't seen him play since schoolboy rugby, but he was a big part of our pack that won us the CAS premiership. Wouldn't get too excited, but a good signing.
