If Elsom has that big an ego then just take the captaincy off him, He is was our best six by far but his form since coming back would only suggest either his heart isnt in it or the european cup is of a much lower standard.

The guy got an early release from the Tahs with a sob story and said he would come back in a year or two, then he came back and said he wanted to live i brisbane and the reds were the only team he was talking to, the tahs didnt hold him to his word and he pissed off to brumbies town, if he is trying to run things there friend should just tell him to have fun in melbourne next year, it would be good for everyone all round.

dude needs to pull his finger out and have form on the field that justifies the head.

WJ, some of your posts cause to me cry in desperation. However, this has to be one of your better ones. I almost (see bold above for where we dont see eye to eye) agree with everything you say.

if he were to sign with another team, where would that leave him in terms of wallaby captaincy, does hopping around between various super14 teams bode well with other wallaby players, its almost displays a lack of loyalty.

in form he is still our best, just not sure if he will ever be in 'the form' we know he can be, who are you throwing in ahead of him currently?

and i second Genia for captain, he is a ten year captain at this point and could see us through the next couple of cups and the lions tour when im not even sure if rocky is sticking round after his current deal is up. Stability at the top has to be something to look at witht he current wallaby team building

I really can't believe how often people here seem to jump on the smallest tidbit of information, make up their own story to go along with it, and proceed to crucify the player. It's really just bitchy.

Completely agree, everyone was singing his praises this time last year and hoping he'd get the Wallaby captaincy. One little rumour and all of a sudden he's disloyal, egotistical, out of form and a princess. Pretty bloody fickle.

we didn't need a rumour to suggest that. Just a tv.

Out of form, yes but I suspect Rocky is travelling pretty well in the GAGR Bumbles player of the year polling.

Not me. I was backing Mumm for the Wallaby 6 but I was not a member of this forum.

I can understand his frustration at Andy Friend but I hadn't heard about him wanting to have players kicked out of the Reds squad, if that's true then he needs to come down a few pegs.

Rocky Elsom is a good player but he's certainly not the saviour of Australian Rugby.

yep, everyone was singing his praises as to what his form had shown in europe and the reputation he had gathered, since then has he had one performance for the wallabies or brumbies that has made you think he is going at 100%

I don't have a big problem with his form. He is not at his best, but he's still pretty good. I don't even have a problem with him arguing with the coach. That's going to happen from time to time. What I have a problem with is doing it in front of the team. It means that one (or both) of these two very important Brumbies is going to lose face in front of the boys. That's not good for team morale or "culture" and both of them have been around long enough to know that. Take it behind closed doors and have it out one on one.

The Brumbies are getting to be a bunch of sooks. They need to get some officials and coaching staff that are like what they had at the start of their franchise. Now they are an established outfit they have lost the magic they had at startup and are getting the problems that managers in other mature businesses have, including not moving with the times.

The player power paradigm they had worked well with Macqueen, a man for all seasons, but it is getting old hat and counter-productive. Time for a few good men, hard bastards, not sooks - a Toecutter or a Razor Gang.

The Brumbies may end up finishing the season strongly and I hope they do, but Oz rugby needs them back in their pomp and lifting the other teams. Their old magic seems to have gone north of the Tweed which is good for the Reds, but they need in back for their sake and for the rest of us also.

ive heard a couple of things, dont know the specifics of this one, but a few people i speak to have said he hasnt settled well to being part of the team.

It's all Friends fault......allowing Rocky to have his 'rock star' status was wrong from the get go. No-one should be bigger than the team no matter how good you play, he warms up away from the team often walking behind the team as if he's too good for them. Allowing players to do as they please before matches & in training sessions is a big NO!!...FUCK HIM, if you you don't wanna be part of the team, bench his ASS!!!

George Smith never acts like a ROCK STAR, Rocky could learn a thing or two from GS.

Rocky is an Excellent player but I wouldn't pick him purely on being up himself.

Its a sign of the times. The Brumbies used to be every Aussie's #2 team. They were innovative & daring. They were the only Aussie Super franchise developing talent and taking risks & there wasn't a lot of bullshit about them. And of course, there's the Larkham factor - a true master, much beloved and worth the price of admission alone.

Now, its just a bunch of arrogant entitled pricks. A stark contrast from the Crusaders where it doesn't matter who you are, work ethic & the TEAM is the thing.

naza lots of people think the same about the tahs. It's not the Brumbies it's rocky and gits. We didn't have this problem last year.

Ditch the big heads, hire a good backs coach and run with young blokes like Tamua and Lelofano (forgive my spelling).

It won't take long for the Brumbies to rise again.
