    Waratahs 2014

Second row depth looks like it could be a big problem this season, was a bit disappointed with Skelton at the weekend. I think he needs to work some more on his body height carrying and clearing out. Potgeiter is going to have to play more than would be ideal throughout the season, we're going...

    Six Nations 2014

Wales faced the same problems they have had regularly since Gatland took over. If their forwards and scrum don't get on top they look blunt in attack. Gatland has never done anything to fix this and despite the quality in their side from 11 through 15 I think that it will all end in tears at the...

    Six Nations 2014

Sobering up after last night but that was a classic Schmidt/Plumtree performance. Ireland seem to have focused on keeping it simple this championship and its paying dividends. Huge game in two weeks in Twickenham but in Schmidt & co we trust! POM was awesome, not much more to be said there...

Trial: Waratahs V Blues Friday 7th of Feb Alliance Stadium 7:30

Benji Marshall was terrible, he was a world class pointer to his forwards but didn't do much else. The Blues lost a scrum penalty in front of us and he went to the half back asking what happened, that and the Alofa try were the highlights. Typical trial, plenty to work on, some stuff to be...

    Six Nations 2014

I think Marshall does everything that D'Arcy does and more its just that there is more instinctive trust in the Sexton, D'Arcy, BOD defensive system which will be crucial this week. Last week BOD came inside to Marshalls man a few times because he didn't trust Marshall to make the tackle, Wales...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

***Shameless Plug Alert*** Sydney Irish start pre season training tomorrow in Coogee (Grant Reserve) at 10am if anyone fancies getting involved. See the website for any more details or shoot me a PM http://www.sydneyirishrfc.com/index.php?id=getinvolved

    Six Nations 2014

Disappointed Marshall has been dropped, his kicking game would have been useful. D'Arcy needs to get the defensive line up quickly and aggressively.

Trial: Waratahs V Blues Friday 7th of Feb Alliance Stadium 7:30

Lee, or anyone else in the know, can we expect to see Potgeiter in this game or will he be slowly integrated? He is coming off a year of non stop rugby so a few weeks rest would be a prudent decision.

Bondi 10's are on Friday & Saturday this weekend

Looks like that draw is a bit out of date, I know Sydney Irish are in it. The Bondi 10's organisers need to do some website updating, looks like its all from 2012.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

If all he does is run in straight lines then he is predictable and easy to defend against, not to mention he'll be carrying like a league player so he'll be ripe for a choke tackle or a turnover on the ground. There is a hell of a lot more to being big and running straight at people as an...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

He'd have to re invent his ball carrying style, learn new defensive systems, develop a distributing and kicking game and learn the ins and out of the ruck. He has a lot of the raw athletic skills required but its doubtful he'd be make a passable international 12 in the 12 months he has to master...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

England did the same with Andy Farrell before the World Cup in 2007, he was shockingly bad, Burgess would be better seeing out his contract and going back with a view to making the 2017 Lions and 2019 World Cup if he is interested in Union. Having never played the game playing in a crucial...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I don't think the Daily Heil and reputable should ever be in the same sentence unless before reputable there is a negative adverb

    Six Nations 2014

Nothing to fear in the Wales team from numbers 1-7, 9 & 10, still convinced that our superior set piece and our half backs, who are on another stratosphere compared to their Welsh counterparts will see us home. We just need to kick well, and our wingers chasing of box kicks needs to be better...

    Six Nations 2014

I think on the pitch its a friendly rivalry, these players see a lot of each other through Pro12, Heineken Cup and many would have built up good relations on Lions tours. I think the media like to go a bit overboard on its mainly stemming from Gatland still being bitter over the manner of his...

    Waratahs 2014

Is it a good sign that one game into pre-season we are only worried about our players having too much hair? And to think that some were worried Buddy Franklin would have KB (Kurtley Beale) back on the soup.

    Six Nations 2014

Maybe in days gone by but most Welsh grounds currently seem like a morgue these days. The worst thing the Ospreys, Cardiff and Scarlets did was move into stadia which were 4 times larger than their average crowd. Nothing kills an atmosphere quicker than empty seats.

    Six Nations 2014

Its an enigma, I'd put the Welsh performance due to the fact that they are playing for artificial teams with no history and no supporters. The Irish players are playing for provinces that have 100+ of history and a real connection with their fans. The 3 Irish provinces would easy be in the top...
