    Shute Shield 2012

Another option to ensure survival of the licensed clubs is if the NSWRU or the ARU was to become the owner of all the clubs, and the actually rugby club became like a franchisee. It would allow the clubs the advantages that economies of scale bring in regards to contracts with suppliers, dealing...

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

I think the wallabies need to look for more complete players to play number 8. The great 8's of the modern era: Read, Parisse and Harinordoquy all have much wider skills sets than we seem to look for in a number 8. I think it is a position where actual rugby smarts are just as important as...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

In addition to losing a bit of weight, Beale also needs to work on his long kicking game. When you play roaming wingers your fullback has to have a kicking game.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

I dont think Timani is fast enough nor skillful enough to play in the backrow. TH lock is his neiche I feel.

    The ranting at Deans/ARU/O'Neill/Players thread

I actually wouldn't mind if the ARU came out and said deans is going to be sacked, but not until the end of the RC. I think we would see some interesting results from deans and his assistants as they fight to prove their worth to the rest of the rugby world so that they can get jobs after they...

    The ranting at Deans/ARU/O'Neill/Players thread

It is not his decision to dictate who the boss is, but I suspect his decision to accept a coaching offer might hinge on it. The board will have the final say in both cases.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

I think he is better at 12 than 10. He would go alright at 15 if he could take a high ball but I dont think I've ever seen him do it. He played his best rugby in 2009 though. Wouldn't have him in the 22 for the next game unless we have horrible injuries.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

There is already a hooper v gill thread.......... Does anyone reckon Mowen can make the step up?

    The ranting at Deans/ARU/O'Neill/Players thread

It's not like there are even that many other options. White is only other domestic coach who would be looked at, but with moral low they wont go for another foreign coach. The thing stopping them would not be deans so much, but rather the fact that if link came in, he would want JON, McGahan...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

I think it is a pretty fair point actually. When Robbo went off the lineout started to deteriorate.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

Hooper was pretty much our best player last night, wonderful run on debut. Gill v Hooper isnt really the point of this thread, but I have to say I dont know what people were expecting from gill last night. He came on late into a well beaten team and tackled like a dog. The opportunities to...

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

Along with the centres this is easily one of the weaker parts of the wallaby team. The current pecking order seems to look something like this: 6. Higgers, Dennis, Schatz 7. Pocock, Hooper, Gill 8. Palu, Samo, McCalman?, Mowen And then you have Auela, Jones, Brown, Vaea, Kimlin, AWH...

When the wallabies turn it around and beat england in the 2015 wc final, we can all look back and remember the bad nights like these and be thankful we didn't stop supporting the team.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

    I still dont think JOC (James O'Connor) is a fullback. Instead I would go with: 1. Slipper/Robinson 2. Moore 3. Kepu/Palmer 4. Timani 5. Sharpe 6. Higgers 7. Hooper 8. Mowen? 9. Genia 10. Cooper 11. Ioane 12. JOC (James O'Connor) 13. McCabe/AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14. Shipperly 15. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)/Beale Samo to play off the bench for a good 30 mins. TPN...

JOC (James O'Connor) returning from injury for the perth test, he might finally get a run at 12. Timani wasnt shit tonight, we might have a half decent TH lock in the works.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Timani earnt his jersey tonight. I am happy to eat my words as he proved me wrong. To be fair though it was his first good game in 5 or so starts. Hooper was good aswell, also did the jersey proud in a tough match. Slipper was better than alexander, higgers was good at the lineout but not...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Am I ever gonna see your face again as sonny bill is subbed off tonight would be classic. Oh course, I would be disappointed in the kiwis if they were to leave out the "no way, get fucked, fuck off".

    Rebels 2013

After watching Tyler Bleyendaal play for Canterbury last night, I have to say the rebels could do worse than to bring him over for a few seasons. He wouldn't be up to it straight away, and normally I am against bringing in foreigners instead of taking a chance on young australian players, but...

    Waratahs 2013

Right then, I'm calling it now - Waratahs to win the super rugby in 2013. New coach whose proved himself at the pinnacle of European rugby, eager to make his mark in australia. Squad that is brimming with depth. New board members to breath some fresh air into the organisation. I mean, what...

    Rebels 2013

He is trailing for EPS at both the reds and rebels I think. Went to marist ashgrove, has played league and union. I reckon the bloke Taumata from sunnybank is a better option at this stage. And Sam Lane is a better option than all of them, but there is talk he is going to the tahs.
