Learning from the enemy – an affordable Third Tier competition

Maybe you could make it U23 for front rowers....

Learning from the enemy – an affordable Third Tier competition

Club rugby, in Brisbane at least, is a young mans game now days. There are still a few old blokes running round, but if players are any decent they will usually have picked up a contract, either here or overseas, by the time they are in there early-mid 20s. If the sole purpose of this...

Learning from the enemy – an affordable Third Tier competition

I dont think this competition would be supported well by the general public. I suspect many would not want to see their club team play their state as they wouldn't know who to support. I would rather see the super rugby teams each put out a 2nd XV/academy/U21 team and then have them play a...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2012

You can hardly tell the Chruchie and Toowoomba jerseys apart. The ref must have had a hard time know who to penalise at the rucks.

    Wallabies 2012 Championship Squad

On the topic of the squad, Ill hold off judgement too much until the final squad is picked as they have cast the net very wide with this initial squad. But I dont see any point having Samo there. He is not even a starter at the reds and he has about 15-20 minutes of good rugby in him. I will be...

    Wallabies 2012 Championship Squad

McCabe is not the ideal foil for quade. Someone with a bit of a kicking game and a precise offload is the ideal foil for quade, so that he take the ball to the line more without having to worry about always being ready for the next phase. I would say McCabe is the ideal 13 for the wallabies...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

We were out of that game the minute lucas went down. I said before the game we were short of injury cover and unfortunately it was true. I am sure the reds will have better 5/8 cover next year as injuries have really taught them a lesson about depth this year. Sharks defence was mamoth and...

    Western Force 2013

In all seriousness, no point trying to sign people who dont want to be there. Force might as well stick with Blake or offer the job to Louden. If you can't sign a top coach you might as well try and develop one.

    Western Force 2013

It's ok guys, SNK and the saffa journeymen will pull the team up by the boot laces and all will come good.

    How long will Quade get?

The reds are just playing mind games with the sharks now i reckon. Quade wont play this weekend.

    Rebels 2013

Higgers is a far better player at this stage than Jones and Delve. Rebels need to sign or develop a fetcher if they want to win the comp any time soon.

Analysis of Strength of Conference Tables.

Fact of the matter is you still have to beat the best to win this comp and no one gives a fuck who came 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. You can cry about the reds all you like, but IF they win this weekend they will still have to travel to the home ground of the top ranked teams and play them there if...

    Reds 2013

There is not much point cutting daley loose when we have no one better to replace him with though. Anae and Daley are able back ups at super rugby level. Both should be retained until someone better comes along.

    Reds 2013

Daley is fine. He is not a test standard prop at the moment, but with a full off season to sort out injuries and work on his scrummaging he will come back better next year and continue as a solid member of the reds squad. What we need is a serious scrummager to replace shep in the squad.

    The Super Rugby Finals!

I think the stormers are rightful favourites due to their powerful defence, but I still they that they lack a decent enough halves combo to spark the attack. They will win if they can get on top of other teams from the get go, but if say the chiefs, saders or reds were able to put a few...

    Wallabies 2012 Championship Squad

Also to be fair to simmons, while he is no Brad Thorn around the field, he is very good in the line out. Whether we need to pick good lineout locks, when we have competent jumpers like Higgers, Mowen and Dennis in the backrow is another question that needs to be asked though.
