It's been a pretty dispiriting week, only made better by seeing my club side Uni win last weekend at Baysie. Other than that it's a bit depressing in Force-land.
It's ok guys, SNK and the saffa journeymen will pull the team up by the boot laces and all will come good.
Can it get any worse at the Force?
I suppose they could appoint Eddie Jones as their coach so yes I suppose it could get worse!
Hope they get something sorted out quickly for the sake of the players who must be very concerned about the immediate future.
http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/s...ch-michael-foley/story-e6frf4qu-1226432008176Player power is at the heart of an audacious bid to lure New South Wales Waratahs coach Michael Foley to Western Force - and it could be the key to retaining David Pocock.
Eddie Jones would not be the worse of all solutions, after all he's won a S12 title before (the only other two in Australia are Nucifora and Link) - and he has coached the Wobblies - although his stint in QLD was not the best.
Way to aim high Force. "Let's try and contract the second least succesful Super 15 coach".
It rather beggars belief doesn't it. I honestly don't know what plan B is or should be now.
coincidentally RugbyWA also re-signed Stiles only a few weeks backWhy would the Force want Foley? His strength is forward coaching but Nick Styles has done a fantastic job with the Force forwards.
There seem to be some self destructive forces (no pun intended) at play here. To be honest, I believe that having Pocock & other senior players at the Force involved in recruiting coach and players is madness - it is destabilising and leaves whoever takes on the coach role at the mercy of these players. This is what was happening at the Brums for a number of years, and to a certain degree, at the Tahs as well.
Players play, coaches coach. The two don't mix.
