    Beale at 10

The article says he hasn't done too well at 10 in the past - he went pretty close to a s14 title playing there. I think it is a good move - give your best back the ball as often as possible.

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - 2011R06

Absolute gold Slim! ...Grass munchers, ploughs, dirt divers, concertinas... Moore missing the match will be a big help to the Waratahs. He is probably their best player. Not having him must be at least as bad as it is for the Waratahs when they don't have TPN.

Macqueen past his used by date?

It is early days yet to be writing Rod MacQueen off. Shit, Robbie Deans is still 'building' after over 3 years in his coaching job.

    Cheetahs vs Waratahs - 2011R05

So do you have a problem with Fitzpatrick and McCutcheon specifically, or is the problem any successful schoolboy player coming directly into Super rugby? That you have said "reputation" would seem to suggest you don't even believe they were very good when at school. Do you have some additional...

    3,2,1 Waratahs vs Cheetahs 2011

I'm disappointed with the overall performance, particularly with the 'pack', but there were some players who stood out for good reasons. 3. Kepu 2. Carter 1. Beale Dennis, Mitchell and Burgess did some better than average work too.

    Deans contract extended

I guess that for those who support the appointment, an IRB ranking of second is more important than the poor (relative to other Wallaby coaches) W/L ratio. I'd be interested to know if the extension was down to Deans achieving certain pre set goals, or if it was a general vibe kind of thing...

    Waratahs v Reds Match Thread

The Reds have been very clever - play a bit shit (but not at the expense of a win), and throw in an article about how tired they are, in order to lull the Waratahs into a false sense of security, then get them with the 'rope a dope' routine. Cunning, very cunning that Ewen McKenzie.

    Deans contract extended

Wasn't there a 'win something' initiative? Something about trophies? If judged by results alone, he doesn't compare favourably to his predecessors. His winning percentage against the All Blacks is particularly poor. Most of these arguments have of course been covered on the blog and in the...

    Brumbies vs Chiefs - 2011R01

Brumbies had a good first half. Chiefs were their own worst enemy.

    Luck of the Draw?

It really depends how you look at it. I think the Waratahs' home draw is great. The away games will be a big challenge though.

I love your work Lee. Love it.

    Brumbies 2011

George Smith barely played last season. An Alexander Moore Palmer front row would be a good one. 5th or 6th = finals...the first choice team, all playing well, are a very strong side. The problem is that they rarely have the first choise team, and they never seem to all play well. The home...

    Lions Super Rugby 2011

Now you've gone and done it. Every season I find myself tipping the Lions (I have no idea why), and just when I thought I had this problem under control you go and give them a chance.
