Maybe Eddie is banking that there will likely be an injury or two in the squad anyways, in which case you fly him over at a later stage in the tournament.

maybe he is travelling with the team just not part of the official named squad. Not sure if that’s allowed but can’t see why not.

I really can’t see him suited to 7’s, he’s lost so much of of mobility and speed the last 2 years. If it was 3+ years ago, perfect, but now I’m not so sure. I hope the best for him though, he’s been a great servant for rugby.

Absolutely. Bell could well be the worlds best prop if he continues playing the way he does. The only other backup I can think so is Sio, he would be the ideal inclusion if he’s in solid form.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Slipper. I am really doubting his pyshicality and scrummaging lately. He used to run a good line at pace but I haven’t seen that too often either. I actually fear Slipper and M Hooper will be our worst players, both past there peaks. Ironic both were initially...

What about Flook? He looks good too.

I’m been critical of Porecki in the past, he’s just so passive in contact and does nothing around the ruck. But this year he has really stepped up. Not that he is TPN of anything in contact but he’s holding his own. Def first choice.

I agree improvement were there. Was a great first half. I agree we played fast hard and error free in the first half. I’m just not getting carried away. I also recognise it was mostly a B string NZ team who didn’t play very well and made lots of errors and poor decisions. If we were one year out...

Hard to prove how much was pressure and how much was just poor play.

I like it, but the starting team is lacking line-out jumpers. Frost is great, Hooper is okay, Valetini only used sparingly. I think you need two specialist jumpers. So Skelton has to come off the bench.

I think it’s also important to note just how crappy the ABs were in the first half, lots of uncharacteristic errors and poor decisions. Probably the worst half of rugby by them in some time.

I doubted T Hoopers physicality at test level after week. But it just goes to show he is capable of playing a more direct game. I think it’s the last we will see of passive players like Holloway, or Hanigan barring injuries. Impressive by Hooper. Well at least the first half.

Is Falou Fainga injured? I thought he would be considered at Hooker. I feel like a player like him would benefit from the hard edge coaching from Eddie given most of his drawbacks were around discipline. He was always great around the park. And the odd poor throw, but same for all the back-up...

Yeh I agree he's better then Vuni and Peisch but I also think the outside back options are good enough to cover without him. I would take one less outside back. You could even look at Marky Marc at fullback before considering Tom Wright there again. You can look at Perese at 13 and then...

Why would you want Tom Wright back?

Yeh honestly it's a stretch, it's more likely they are gooooone.

It could also just be strategic. We know what Samu brings and he isn’t exactly going to bring anything extra above his normal output if he played the last 3 tests. Might as well see what lesser known players are like in the squad to get a good look at them. I think Samu is a lot easier to...

On bringing Arnold in, it makes sense to me since McReight is back starting and Holloway gone so we would have lost a line-out option.

I thought this too, he really shines in the last 10mins when he is still hitting the line at pace and running hard. It’s not so effective in the first 45min against fresh bodies.
