    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

One of Eddie’s podcasts he said they choose a couple players who realistically won’t play and are just there holding pads, so they need a few guys who are there just happy to do that. Samu would likely be pushing to start and be disappointed every time he doesn’t. Not sure he’d happily play...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I find it interesting when most posters on this forum regard 'development' as school boys development and then club level development. I would argue the most important part of development is the transition from club level to super rugby level and then test level. The Brumbies are undoubtedly...

    Barbarian F.C. v Northampton Saints, 2/9/23

Disappointing to hear but starting to understand why he didn’t make the main squad.

    Barbarian F.C. v Northampton Saints, 2/9/23

How was JOC (James O'Connor) at 10? Enough to stake a claim as the next backup?

    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

I think when Williams was playing for Wales they had never beaten Australia. We always played well against them. Then they won a few against us we probably aren’t as big a threat to them anymore, especially from a mental aspect.

    Wallabies 2023

Good point on Foley. Lolesio is also in France so could be a smokey if he finds some form (and Gordon went down).

    Wallabies 2023

It will be interesting to see how JOC (James O'Connor) goes since he is in the extended RWC training squad, which would indicate he is the back-up 10 if Gordon goes down.

    Wallabies 2023

Maybe ‘losing frequently’ is the primary bad habit Eddie cared about. At both club and international level. Slipper, White, and Skelton are in better club set ups with more of a winning/successful culture.

    Wallabies 2023

Maybe these are the only experienced players he thinks the younger guys can actually learn a thing or two off. And all the other ones will just learn bad habits. Or in Slippers case the depth is pretty low at prop at the moment. I agree the White over Lonergan one doesn’t fit the narrative...

    Wallabies 2023

I’m not sure if this is just trolling, and I like quade, always been a supporter of his. But he has not ‘always been a selfless team player’ even Quade admits that himself these days. Especially, when talking about the wallabies.

    Wallabies 2023

I have a feeling his eyes are firmly set in RWC 2027 in Australia and this is purely a development campaign.

    Wallabies 2023

I 100% agree with you. The comparison between Noah and Gordon is spot on. But now compare Donaldson with Lolesio. Wouldn’t Lolesio be a better back up option? I do find it interesting that there is little debate over the first XV. Apart from a few drop McReight, Arnold comments. It’s really...

    Wallabies 2023

At least under Rennie it looked like most of the team selections and structure was set. There was clearly an issue at 10 but everywhere else was mostly set. Looking at last year’s campaign the team played a few games they could have or should have won. They were just missing that one percent or...

    Wallabies 2023

Except for keeping White and not selecting Lonergan.

    Wallabies 2023

I think Cheika was worse then both Eddie and Robbie when it comes to making decisions based on emotion over logic. Pretty sure every one of his decisions were based on his ‘gutt feel’.

    Wallabies 2023

Tate was probably told to work on his passing or wouldn’t be selected, his passing is still lacklustre, so it’s easy to see a coach go a different direction. It’s also pretty clear Lolesio is not a game managing 10. So I don’t agree he should have been ‘developed’, I actually think the...

    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

Surely we start the strongest team each game. The team needs time together. The combinations need time playing together. I think we are in a favorable position that we still have a decent chance of winning the pool without the combinations fully firing given the pool isn't the toughest. By the...

    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

it’s actually refreshing watching a clearance kick go more then 40meters. Foley and to a lesser extent Lolesio both had poor distance. Carter has solid distance and I think in general play a solid enough boot, just needs to work on his bombs and goal kicking.

    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

possibly Koros spot could be at risk given he’s short and not the greatest under the high ball.

    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

Lonergan’s decision making and passing is probably better then Tates so we could gain on attack and goal kicking. We do lose a sniping/running threat but gain in other areas. I didn’t see the Aus A game, can anyone comment how Lonergan went?
