    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

be fair, he did get the job on short notice so there wasn’t many decent assistants available. I actually think this is one of the primary weaknesses of the team. But I also expect it to be fixed after the RWC. Eddie’s pretty good at the cameo coaches brought in like Hansen or Andrew Jones.

Bring in Ryan Lonergan. Which is unlikely at this stage. but I would even consider Kellaway or Tate. They aren’t proven at all, but either is Gordon and at least Kellaway and Tate would probably handle the pressure better.

No one wants him gone. We just want some one else to do the goal kicking. He’s got enough in his plate already.

Lolesios boot in the last 20min would be ideal . Comparing him with Donaldson and Lolesio seems like a far better option. But then so does Quade compared to Lolesio. If only either of them played for Randwick.

Gordon has a great pass, never been an average part of his game. It’s the kicking that’s a worry.

Petaia’s defence has been great too.

i think it really just comes down to Cooper not being fit enough or sharp enough compared alternatives - Gordon and dare I say it Donaldson.

Depends how you look at it, since injuries are common so you say, and I bet more common in the forwards, then there will be plenty of opportunity to bring in more options later. (Unless that one injury is Gordon of coarse - but any other player will be okay) So your odds are 33-1 the injury is...

So it’s safe to say Skelton is starting. Unless THooper starts at 7 again, our line out options are pretty low. I’d much prefer McReight to start, and he should have been Captain.

Ireland, France are now genuine contenders for the worlds best. Argentina on there day can beat anyone. SA, England still can too. Even Japan and Fiji, can cause an upset on there day and aren’t easy beats. Wales, Scotland aren’t easy beats. The world stage is so much more competitive since...

He picked the best XV. Not much argument about that. Everyone is literally arguing about injury cover selections. Accept Eddie is risking injury cover selections for impact players or youth. It’s really not that bad. Plus given our lack of depth we probably needs to take some big risks to win.

I’m a huge Samu fan but I agree with you. I’m all for Gleeson getting a shot. His velocity into contact is up there with the best

Well JOC (James O'Connor) is going with the team as a training member so wouldn’t you put Quade there if that was the case. It seems JOC (James O'Connor) would be the emergency replacement.

Does Donaldson really have that much utility value. Thought he would only cover 10 & 15. And personally I think Quade could cover 15 just as well as Donaldson. Lolesio would probably be a better 15 too.

    Wallabies 2023

It’s a huge gamble. But then I guess based on our history we need to go the route of high risk, high reward. Because that’s exactly what we need to win is get a high reward. We aren’t going to win playing it safe. So I actually think he’s just going full guns blazing all chips on a single...

Except Donaldson have never shown at any level he has ‘bags of talent’.

It’s also clear he isn’t first choice. Gordon deserves that. Not many are arguing that. So I’m okay with dropping your second string options for younger players. I just don’t get why Donaldson is favoured.

Well for most of the season… except in the quarter (maybe semi?) final when it really mattered. Wright doing Wright things.

    Wallabies 2023

If he’s backing youth why is White there but not Lonergan. White has been just as bad as Cooper. They have similar play styles but Longergan more youthful and fast paced and could be a match winner with his goal kicking. I get why Fines is picked. He’s favouring running halves and is like for...

    Wallabies 2023

He gave Cooper the chance, he gave him time to get back to his best, he understood he is recovering from injury so he needed more time to find form and fitness. The gamble didn’t work, he didn’t find form in time. Time to go with plan B. Which I am totally all for. Until that plan B is...
