Thanks for your work here RNB, Sounds like a terrific game.

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Agree HH, both are very strong sides, and it may well have been different, however, in that same game, the Waves also had 3 out with the flu. Either way, I think it's fair to say that they are 2 of the strongest teams running around. My original point was that it hard to agree that the...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Newo and Scots may have historically dominated this group in the younger years but this is the 16s when things change. I didn't say the overall quality of the CAS players is greater, you did! So here's my point, and I have seen all these games, I bet you haven't seen either Knox or Waves play...

Gps would smoke CAS! What rubbish. The special coloured glasses are on! Waverley and Knox between them have beaten Kings, Newington, Shore and View, and I believe Joeys aren't the usual top side in the 16as as per normal. In fact View, Kings and Shore got SMOKED. Newington is a very good side...

Rubbish Rb, typically the GPS 1s play the CAS 1s in the final NOT the gps 2S, that happened last year after a last minute win by the GPS 2s over the CAS 1s, and the final is nearly always tight. Expect the same this year.

    CAS Rugby 2022

Snort, before you cop a backlash here, I do think you are a bit off the pulse. Shore are very much on the pace this year, and across many age groups. So you would have to think their future is very bright! Newington likewise, and the other GPS schools are consistently strong. Even though...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Yep they lost the scrum last year because they got the props wrong. Had the CAS chosen Black (Knox) and Smith 9Wavesa) as props then the GPS pack would have been drilled IMO, particularly with the 2 second rowers we had, which we did not have this year, not to mention no Ned Slack Smith at 8...

Hector, sorry, I am sure you mean well, BUT I think you should carefully have a re-read through the thread. I didn't say that, someone else did, I just commented on this viewpoint. Yes I well remember when Aloys won well at Death Valley, and my eldest was in the 16s, it was the 1st time I had...

You know what Rod, now that I think about it, and it applies to both associations. This is what you get when you choose rep teams after only 1 comp game, yes there have been earlier games but many will argue that things are tested then, the comp requires every team to put it's best team up...

Mr Huge, why is it not a huge surprise? The CAS school teams beat many GPS schools this year. Having said that, if you mean the CAS didn't choose it's best team again, you are correct.

    CAS Rugby 2022

Rod, No one will argue about Katoa, the other Barker backs I know not well, and you may well be right. What I do know is that if you win the battle of the forwards, thus ball retention, you will win most games. This team DID NOT have the best CAS forward side available, same as last year, some...

    CAS Rugby 2022

It's a good observation Albi, Both Rep associations have exactly the same preparation time so no excuses there. IMO there is a difference in style between the CAS schools, Knox normally play a more pick and drive forward style, Waves are more like Randwick ie ball runners, and Barker are...

    CAS Rugby 2022

This may sound far fetched but I have it on very reliable sources that some CAS don't want their school/teams live streamed as they are not competitive and it isn't a good look. Yep that was the answer I was given, and unfortunately the fact is real.

    CAS Rugby 2022

As a Waves dad, I watched the 16as game last Sat. Knox were very good in the 1st half, Waves did bomb at least 1 try over the line, and Knox led 19-0 just before half time. However, this Waves side has been terrific all year, except for the Newington game of which there was 1 main reason but no...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Just noted that the CAS v GPS games are on this Tuesday at Shore. The times are 1.15pm 2nds and 3.15 1sts. Terrific thinking, whoever thought this was a good idea. Now, no schoolboys can attend, it's school time, and very few parents, TERRIFIC! I guess we are now going to hear about sharing...
