    CAS Rugby 2022

G'day Rod, Agree with your thoughts. I thought it was a terrific game, both sides were very passionate, the speed, defense, and execution was high level, and it was very physical. Barker deserved to win, they were too good, but the Waves definitely had a crack and paid no attention to some big...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Now I remember you! WOW you bring up something that happened many many years ago, as you got absolutely flogged by us in your age group but you were ok when you played in a club team that had better players to help your cause, absolutely sure I mentioned it once, years ago, and that's the best...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Absolute rubbish, why would you say that when you just don't know. Firstly NO ONE WAS DRUNK, the old boys came from a colts game in the morning, so that statement is just dribble! You don't sound "real classy", in fact, the correct English is REALLY CLASSY, FYI. Sounds like you got a bit of a...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Agree Rod, Hooper was terrific, but so was the whole Barker side, they are a very good side, it was a high quality game.

Yes Elfster it will be interesting to see how the Waves perform this Sat. There will be a large crowd for sure, let's see if Death Valley comes into play. Knox should account for Aloys comfortably you would expect. Cranbrook should also chalk up a win v Trinity. I just hope the grounds are...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Yep agree B&W, Newington had a terrific side that year and won the GPS. I saw New play a terrific Aloys side at Stanmore in a mid week game, a draw 20 odd each. Whilst impartial here, the Aloys side was very hardly done by, scored a try down the sideline towards the end, but the linesman said...

Thanks, that explains it. As I said there was no lack of talent. BTW, Cyril was an old Wave, as was Dave Brown, imagine those 2 as your centre pairing.

Here's some interesting info for you Joker. My team played against this Joeys age group in the age groups for 4 years, but we didn't play each other in the Opens. This Joeys age group was the best in the GPS As comp every year, unbeaten for several years. Scots were 2nd. We couldn't believe they...

J, My tips for round 3. Shore by 5 Scots by 7 New by 5 Cheers WLF3

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Never left the AAGPS, ISA or CAS sites re schoolboy footy, luv seeing the scores, and the insightful comments. Must say, since the AAGPS schools are now only playing themselves, there's a much more happy tone in the site, as there must be a GPS school winner. Finally no one can get flogged by a...

J, I assume I only scored 10 because there is currently no 10 points bonus for picking the exact margin, at the moment, a la Scots by 2? Cheers.

A great result for Cranbrook, and I am guessing it's from a lot of hard work, you might be lucky in the odd game, but to win the comp you need more than just luck. This is terrific for CAS rugby, hopefully no longer is it a 3 horse race, and next year is shaping up well for Cranbrook in the Opens.

Does anyone know the final score for Aloys v Barker?

    CAS Rugby 2022

OHB, I was there today, and will be back next year. Cranbrook showed a lot of spirit to come back from 26-7, they never gave in, their forwards, and 10, and the wonderful year 10 boy with the white head gear, winger, were all terrific. I did say it would be tight, always is with these 2...

    CAS Rugby 2022

DAS, I understand your point BUT after 50, it IS crowing like a rooster! (great league team BTW). Last 2 games, Barker 96 v Aloys, then Barker 69 v Aloys! I think at schoolboy level it's a bit different than professional ranks. I also thinks it looks poor and no one wins, sometimes there are...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Agree Elfster with all your tips, Yes the weather is a downer for footy, IMO, it can kill the flow, backs should just sit on the bench and watch. Will be interesting to see which teams play smart wet weather footy, ie don't throw missile passes and league offloads. I do hope Barker don't rub...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Yes and Latham is at South Coogee (Randwicks ground). Not a huge fan of synthetic fields, mind you technology is getting better, but they are terrific when the weather is poor, as per current, otherwise there would be 0 games played.

    ISA 2022

Agree H, as an outsider, I would have thought Oakhill were hot favs.
  19. WLF3

    NSW AAGPS 2022

OS, A bit of a generalization here imo. Yes the GPS schools definitely have more teams in most schools compared to the CAS schools, no question. I wouldn't call a 5 horse race, great depth in terms of a comp, eg Shute shield team numbers, other comps etc , 5/6 is in fact small. The best CAS...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

There's an easy explanation to that, as witnessed time after time in comments, if you play in an GPS school you are just better, therefore, even if a better side beats you, that's ok, you still deserve to be selected in the top NSW teams. After todays win by the CAS 16s, no surprise to me or...
