    NSW AAGPS 2023

Agree completely with your analytical points re the different constitutions, and I am not a Barker person. Who said anyone wanted to join the GPS, completely overrating yourselves again, it just oozes, as you say, MOVE ON! You have completely missed the point about the evolutionary ideas...

Good luck today Barker, show them how to play!

    CAS Rugby 2023

Sorry Dan, but I hope the AFL isn't affected like the rugby, meaning the CAS don't push the GPS schools that play in this same comp, out of the comp. You would expect not, but sometimes a point needs to be made so this type of rubbish doesn't rear it's ugly selfish head again.

RoD, I had a dozen close cousins at View and used to go and watch them all the time, particularly v Joeys. It was terrific. Times have changed since then, as has the number of competitive schools. The concerning thing is whilst people argue on this thread, the school authorities think as they...

    NSW AAGPS 2023

Sorry, but every insinuation you make here is completely off the mark, and you are wrapped up in what you believe is the specialness of the GPS. There are numerous reasons why a tiered system makes more sense, whilst still each association could still run it's own comp within such a set up...

    CAS Rugby 2023

G, Believe me I DID NOT say that, this has been cleverly pasted, probably by a schoolboy. I would never mention or belittle any school about their ATAR rankings or quality as a school, ie the reference of 150 ranking! It actually makes me very angry that this was put out there, but it got a...

    CAS Rugby 2023

That's is spot on Red Son, the CAS did play a home and away comp which was just as limiting as the GPS doing the same, but not by it's own choice. This is NOT tradition for either association, as for decades we all played each other. like currently, until we reverted to our own comps, and the...

    CAS Rugby 2023

Well RoD, Whilst you are a red man and I am a Waves man, we often may not see eye to eye, let's agree on this topic because the required direction for ALL these schools is VERY obvious to all. A joint CAS/ISA comp, is a good idea in my view, would have worked much better with a 2 tiered system...

    CAS Rugby 2023

RoD, Spot on re the GPS going back to play in their own little sand pit, a MASSIVE shame for the development of Schoolboy Rugby. Now, not that it will help rugby, but it will be very interesting to see what happens with the AFL schoolboy season, as currently the comp is made up of a...

    ISA 2022

Fair enough Jack, I have always included Auggies as 1 of the 2 ISA schools of strength, how the age groups would fair against the strong CAS schools, time will tell, but I do see these 2 schools as playing a real role in the early part of our seasons, but I can't see anyone else in the ISA comp...

    ISA 2022

Agree, Rugby could, and needs to be treated differently than other sports for obvious safety, enjoyment reasons etc. It's a broader issue than just our 2 associations IMO but the CAS will definitely now have to have a hard look at the current comp. You could argue that the ISA comp is in a...

    ISA 2022

DA, Whilst this year is only 1 year, to be honest the only ISA school over the last few years that has really competed against the stronger CAS schools has been Oakhill. There may be the odd Auggies lower grade team that is very strong eg their 14as this year, but the rest of the teams I doubt...

I don't understand what you guys mean by the GPS here in your discussions!

    ISA 2022

Cranbrook would definitely be in the top group, they have 17 teams, and their A teams, particularly their 1sts over the last few years have been very solid, all the talk is that they are building their program, and it does look that way. I am confident that they would have quite easily beaten...

    ISA 2022

Relax DA, Couldn't help myself! BTW the 6 schools currently in the CAS have always been them same since 1943, no other school has ever been a member. Remember these associations cover more than just Rugby, eg Athletics, swimming, cricket etc. Now here is some info you WILL find very...

    ISA 2022

DS, A bit rough on the CAS I believe. Many times have I heard CAS supporters back a tiered system which has included the ISA comp, and the CAS schools have played several against ISA teams over the years, not sure against GPS schols?. It's the GPS who wants to move back into their own little...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Clearly you would have to start for the 1st year by assessing the performance of each schools results over the last few years, and probably the current years 16s and Opens . After year 1 you would promote/relegate annually again based on performance.

    CAS Rugby 2022

Hi RL, I am a big fan of Cranbrook rugby, see lots of mates in our local derby, and YES Cranbrook always lift for the local derby. I don't recall brook ever leading Waves last year, it was close at half time, then in 10 minutes it was pretty much over. I was also under the impression that the...
