BBR, Yes they are very strong, have watched them a few times against strong GPS schools, and the scores have been massive. However, as we all know, things and boys and training changes as they age, we have seen all this before, so let's wait and see.

That is great to hear Homer, all for growth and thus stronger teams! BTW, This year the Waves 13s has 6 teams which is more than normal, so hopefully more schools also see a growth in numbers.

Not true Mr Snort, this time your judicial prowess is misguided. I do believe Knox are favs as they are playing at home and also beat Newington by slightly more than the Waves, and they beat View. Thus my viewpoint. More than happy to be proven wrong.;)

    CAS Rugby 2022

It looks like there is a resurgence in Knox rugby at the moment. The 1sts and 16as are favs to beat the Waves, should both be good games. Not sure how the lower age age groups will pan out, your thoughts?

How do you think the Knox 16as will go against Waves this Sat?

    CAS Rugby 2022

I think most teams have had multiple players out this season eg the Flu. Scots had 5 out that day v Barker, 4 were also key players, and the team to beat, got beat! They will also lose at Death Valley soon.

Didn't Scots beat Barker comfortably 22 - 10 ? The Waves no 9 is quite special.

    CAS Rugby 2022

Yes it's a Rugby issue but that shouldn't stop a reconfiguring so that equality is better matched up for all the reasons I mentioned. That also doesn't mean everything else needs to change within the associations. I also wasn't saying an expansion of the CAS, I was saying, re-align schools of...

BBR, As an old CAS boy, I suspect you may be as well, SNORT certainly is, I have 2 boys 1 going through Waverley now, and 1 left last year, so here's my view. I am all for tradition but there comes a point when it doesn't make sense. I think the CAS has reached that point now...

    CAS Rugby 2022

My apologies BBR, I got it wrong. The rep games are great but given all the teams are so mixed, and some try to just show their ability, it could go either way. I just hope this year, the rain doesn't screw it up, like last year.

Hi ap1, I do know the history of this age cohort, and I have no family member/s in this age group. Throughout the years, particularly over the last 2 years, this age group has beaten all comers including Joeys, View etc and then all CAS schools, bar 1 game v Knox at Knox which was extremely...

My Tips for this Sat. Joeys, Kings and Shore. A suggestion to make the number of tips greater from next, include the 3 CAS comp games next week along with the 3 GPS 1st XV comp games from next week. Tomorrow the CAS comp starts round 1.

    CAS Rugby 2022

Yes ap1, it is becoming very difficult to manage and no one wins in these situations. Thus my point about assessing a longer term solution. The GPS has done this well via their 3rd XV comp, unfortunately the CAS doesn't have a 9 member school group, only 6. So unless some other schools eg...

Agree Rod, Knox, Waves and Barker by unfortunately these days, way too much. I feel sorry for Aloys and wish/hope that they could strengthen their Rugby program, this weekend they have 9 teams playing from the 13s-Opens. Of these 9 only the 1s,2s, 16as and 13as are matching up, the 15as and...

Hey footybevscones, The funny thing when the schoolboys hit the forum, ( nice editing of what i didn't say), is that you always give yourselves away! It should have read, Wouldn't have guessed... back to class!

    CAS Rugby 2022

Agree Snort, But Waves are at Aloys, don't think that will matter. Unless Trinity and Cranbrook can produce some upsets, I think it's fair to say that the last 2 CAS games...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Hope your son bounces back quickly, mine was out all last season after 1 minute of the 1st game, so I share your pain. These days given all the club games played a lot of boys know each other well, but sportsmanship, and mateship, is paramount in any game. Yesterdays game was entertaining given...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Agree, it should have been a penalty IMO. I did think the Waves were going to win by some margin at half time but the Oaks certainly thought otherwise. The Oaks backs put on some good long distance tries, some real speed out wide. It was a strange type of play by the Waves, in the last 2 games...

    CAS Rugby 2022

Waves and Oakhill played a 40 all draw! Waves led 28-12 half time but Oakhill scored some terrific 2nd half backline tries. A fair result, a game of excellent school boy footy!
