Next few months I reckon. If this plan fails she might not last much longer. It's a big 'if' though.

Well this is positive. Early days, but Optus are at least interested: https://www.afr.com/companies/media-and-marketing/optus-enters-rugby-maul-in-bid-to-grow-subscribers-20200213-p540hl

Out of interest, have you been to any NRC games? I get your point, but at least there's a pull factor to going to a Shute Shield game, even if it's just to sink tins on the hill. I'm no friend of the Shute Shield (as previous articles on the front page would illustrate), but I can see it's...

But at least there is a level of passion there. As much as I can appreciate the NRC as a development tool, there is no doubt it just hasn't taken hold in the wider rugby community.

It's easy and accessible. It's free. As much as certain people on here love their streaming platforms, there is still a great swathe of the population out there who dislike using the internet, let alone a streaming service. There's a large number of people who turn on the TV at night and...

I also think losing Cheika when we did was a hammer blow. He could have stayed for 3-5 more years and we could have had a settled, experienced team with good prospects coming through. But replacing him with Gibson was probably the catalyst for our downfall.

Yeah it's depressing to think we've gone from a dominant franchise to cellar-dwellers in just five years. It's happened before elsewhere (Reds, Blues, Chiefs) but it's still tough to see. With the quality of players we had we should have made at least one more GF, and a few more semi-finals.

The SMH is clearly getting desperate for pundits. They've gone and published a piece from a GAGR hack. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/foxtel-tantrum-reveals-true-worth-of-rugby-tv-rights-20200209-p53z46.html

Is there? There certainly could be, but until we have a conclusion to this saga I'm unwilling to condemn anyone on any side. The only way this whole 'saga' could have been avoided was if we just re-upped with Fox and 10, and I'm not sure that would have been the best move to make for RA. In...

And of course the strategy would have been signed off by the Board. If it goes to shit there will be plenty of blame to go round I'm sure. .

I think Geerob nailed it with this article in the SMH https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/foxing-for-a-deal-rugby-s-broadcast-rights-imbroglio-will-go-into-extra-time-20200206-p53yey.html It's very murky at the moment but the only thing that's sure is that nothing you read in the Tele...

I'll wait until we end up with a final result until I judge how it all went. I find this whole thing quite confusing and don't really trust anyone. That said, news that Fox is publicly walking away is hardly something we should celebrate. At very least it means one less bidder in the market...

    Wallabies 2020

The state of this take. 'I'd go with someone who's played precisely one game of Super Rugby, but I suppose the incumbent 100-test captain who has won multiple John Eales medals has a chance of the spot too'. I know Wallaby team chat in February is a rank cesspool of quickly-forgotten opinions...

His contract takes him through to 2023, and he's still only 28. So I'd say he's got at least three years left in him.

Personally I'd be happy to see the rights stay with Fox (for the right price). I have grown to enjoy the Kayo app. It's pretty cheap, and easy to use. Especially for someone who rarely manages to catch the game when it's on live. I'd be a bit annoyed if I had to sign up for another platform...

I'm a little nervous about throwing Harrison straight into the 10 jumper, especially considering we're playing the Crusaders in round 1. I hope he can start strongly, but so much of this is about confidence and I'd hate for him to be knocked about too early in his career.
