I reckon plan A is Kiss takes over as HC and Schmidt continues as an assistant. He will want to be part of the WC but not the face of it

Schmidt is leaving of his own accord at the end of the Lions Tour isn't he? The next power play will be who gets to take the team to the WC

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

I would love to see just how bad our w/l % is when it's wet. Argentina strong favorites now, with the # of posts wondering why Lolesio is kicking so much and why he isn't setting our backline on fire even though it's wet and muddy to exceed 100.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

With just 8 tests left until the Lions, in only 10 months. I can't see how anyone that's not fit and ready to start test match rugby could possibly push for selection unless there was a huge injury issue. I think probably even Lynagh doesn't have enough time. For better or worse, it's Lolesio...

Poor fella, it sounds like his two choices were assistant coach at the Tahs, or assistant coach at the Eels. No wonder he is upset

We already have one of those working full time - Peter Horne. We just pay Nucifora to answer his phone

The Tahs are now centralised under the Nucifora model. Brumbies are on the way. There was a bit of state-based collateral damage to RA along the way

Yeah, the NRL is currently averaging 19,754 people a game, which is all time high, and they will get close to 4.5m through the gate over the season. I don't think they worry too much about the odd flop at Homebush, which the NSW gov is underwriting anyway

Why would RA be involved in Vic clubland? Isn't it the VRU patch?

    Wallabies 2024

Yeah, these two tests are the ones that will get by far the least amount of attention until the Lions Tour. If Gordon and Lolesio are first choice (as it seems to be with Schmidt) then give them these two tests as gimmes to work together a bit more before the Bled pressure cooker

I don't really disagree, but for the sake of throwing some bombs into the discussion in a non-test week...... I don't think he's too young (he is 21, not some child prodigy), the problem is he's too small and slow, and now he has hamstring isssues. He had zero try assists in Super Rugby, and by far the...

I've got to say I'm a bit mysterfied by how so many people are convinced by Lynagh to date. He's passed the ball 5 times total in his international career. One of those was in the attacking half. He's basically made no impact off the bench at all. I'm not saying he won't be good, I just don't...

    Wallabies 2024

Where did Schmidt do that? I've heard Nongorr snores and no-one want to share a room with him Robertson has great form for carrying a tackle bag, being the 4th choice LH and 3rd choice TH, and getting 10 mins at the end of one of the games, while keeping spirits up with stories of the Oxford...

    Wallabies 2024

I find it pretty weird that there is any expectation for a pro coach like Schmidt to pick "on form". Super Rugby round games finished nearly 3 months ago. There is no form for non-test players

I always think tackle stats tell you more about what the opposition tactics were rather than any indicator of effort. At this level no-one is hiding in D, so it more tells a story about where the oppo are attacking

    Wallabies 2024

I'm playing devils advocate here, because you can't fault his efforts but how much of that well beaten pack is because the leading tackler can't stop the big SA bodies before the ad-line? It's the same issue for McReight. We actually want our 7 making fewer tackles and having a bigger ruck...

Robertson did his ACL last year. The sabbatical at Oxford lined up with his injury recovery. He didn't really miss much rugby

    Wallabies 2024

Doesn't that just means SA saw great value in running at him?
