Does anyone know if the Barker v Nudgee match is televised?

    CAS Rugby 2023

Barker is a co-ed school with a small male intake. It is not a traditional rugby bastion and I doubt many parents decide to send their kids their because of their rugby program, it appeals to families that value a co-ed environment and a well rounded school. The school has obviously taken a...

If only there was some way of determining who is the top team in Sydney… a competition of some kind.

What’s ‘dripple’? Do you mean drivel? It’s looking ominous for your upcoming English Standard exam.

Is that the tight ship that got them an HSC rank of 150 last year?

A great development. Hopefully it will be a big hit and an annual thing. A national championship game between the top school in each state is just what the game needs.

Why can’t Australia get it together to have a national schools cup? The UK do it with the RFU Schools Cup and the Kiwis do it - both with far more rugby playing schools. The winner could go to the Sanix comp in Japan to compete against the world’s best. It’s crazy with rugby rapidity losing...

Knox will be strong again, with the two Aus A props, Gen Blue second rower and Enasio in the centres all returning, plus a very successful 16A contingent coming through.

If GPS go to home and away and CAS / ISA do the same, or move to some form of joint comp, then it opens up the possibility of the winners playing in an inter-association Sydney Schools Cup in mid August to settle the above debates. The people deserve… nay, demand it.

No idea, but given how closely the rugby masters work together presume they knows it was on the cards. Incidentally Knox is taking its 1sts and 2nds on a pre season tour of New Zealand next April so at least they will get some good trial games jn.

I know the Knox boys at least are happy about the prospect of a home and away CAS - 2 bites of the cherry against Barker and Waverley. Plus Trinty and Cranbrook should be strong in the next couple of years given some quality players coming through and a good year for Cranbrook this year. May be...

Agree - the SJRU has a process for placing larger kids into the age group above (mandatory at certain weight / height) but for schools it is at their discretion.

Same, heard from a parent who’s on the committee at New. So not 100% confirmed.

    CAS Rugby 2022

It is going to come to a head quickly as I understand that next year GPS is reverting to a home and away structure, meaning that the GPS teams will not be available to play the multi-week trials they did this year. I guess that means home and away for CAS as well, which may not be all that...

It’s significantly weaker. Knox went through CAS undefeated but lost to every GPS team except Newo I think, plus a massive loss to Oakhill, who I think are the best in the age group.

Agree the Barker 1 had a fantastic game. He was everywhere. The Barker 10 Katoa’s kicking game was a big factor as well. He was incredibly composed at 10. For Knox the 12 McLeod had his best game of the year I think - making metres for fun. Great crowd and atmosphere, but I must say I didn’t...

Can’t wait for Barker v Knox. Great to get a real decider on the last day and given the week of hype at both schools there should be a massive crowd at the Barker main oval. Lots of (mostly) good natured banter across all age groups; the boys know each other well. If Knox play to their...

All the Gen Blue kids were told that while the programme was on they couldn’t play league; they have to choose sides. So some decisions to be made. Except isn’t the Harold Matts comp finished anyway? May be a moot threat.

U16 Gen Blue team is out. 5 CAS players (congrats!) vs 11 GPS players despite CAS winning the championships. https://global-uploads.webflow.com/5c7a072d5c2293579349778f/62e75a8d6e1b817e4908f056_2022%20U16%20Waratahs%20Academy%20team%20sheet.pdf
