    Waratahs 2025

Well, realistically the Tahs had very little to do with signing Sua'ali'i and likely Kellaway (not that they would say no to either player). With all fit they're likely to play 13,14 and 15. It's also not $2.6m of Super Rugby salary cap towards those players. The bulk of it is Rugby Australia...

    Waratahs 2025

Seems like a very difficult spot for all parties. Waratahs clearly don't have control over exactly who they contract going forward, a bunch of players from the Rebels with contracts that run into 2025 but may not have a team and uncertainty for Rugby Australia about whether the Rebels will...

    Waratahs 2025

I think he's very much a professional and I don't think he'll be a disruptive force due to not being allowed to leave. He's been pretty dedicated to the Tahs and Australian rugby for a long time. If I was Phil Waugh I would definitely have asked him if he thought Gordon was in his best 23 and...

    Waratahs 2025

In my view they should let him go. Has certainly done his time with Australian rugby, wouldn't be in anyone's top two halfbacks (but would make the squad for some) and he's got an opportunity overseas that is presumably pretty good. Rugby Australia would get out of paying him for 6 months.

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

Harrison still can't play 80 minutes from what I've heard. He's struggling to get through 60.

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

Yes. The Rebels had an injury to Taniela Tupou so they needed him back.

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

If you took out Holloway and Gordon would there be more Waratahs caps on the Force team than the Waratahs team?

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

Fielding 5 front rowers who had never played a Super Rugby game before this season and another guy who arrived last week on loan will do that to you.

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

Langi Gleeson is also listed as an injured player out with a calf injury but that seems par for the course.

Round 13: Force v Waratahs Saturday 5:35pm Perth time

    1. Loosehead Prop - Lewis Ponini (Eastern Suburbs) 2. Hooker - Jay Fonokalafi (Gordon) 3. Tighthead Prop - Enrique Peiretto (Glasgow Warriors) 4. Left Lock - Fergus Lee-Warner (Eastern Suburbs) 5. Right Lock - Miles Amatosero (Eastern Suburbs) 6. Left Flanker - Lachlan Swinton (Sydney...

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

It was announced two years ago and has now been extended by two years. I think it just ensures that any funds flowing afterwards are subject to the same rules.

Wallaroos v USA - Friday 17 May @ AAMI Park

Congratulations to Caitlyn Halse becoming the youngest ever Wallaroo!

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

I don't think so. I think it just means that World Rugby walks out of Australia with their share of the pie without the ATO getting anything.

    Wallabies 2024

Sure, but all our other options are pretty comparable. They could all be better and that would be great. The reality is that most of our players could be better at most things. It's a big part of why we're now clearly in the bottom half of the top 10 test teams.
  15. Braveheart81

    Wallabies 2024

They would essentially need to be the best option we have across the whole team. If Carter Gordon is the 10 option then that makes it a lower bar to surpass. If it's someone else then it's more difficult. Ryan Lonergan is probably the only one where this is currently a potential thing (at least...

    Wallabies 2024

We have a goal kicking problem with Carter Gordon. All the other 10 options are fine. For pretty much every other player their time can be better spent training something else that will have a greater impact on their play as a rugby player.

    Wallabies 2024

Do you really think that someone who has had little or no professional goal kicking experience can become a test level goal kicker with a little bit of coaching and practice?
  18. Braveheart81

    Wallabies 2024

Sure, but like every year, the form in the last 6 weeks will mean a lot more in terms of who makes the squad than the form in the first 10.
  19. Braveheart81

    Wallabies 2024

His last couple of games have probably been his best though. I think he's unlikely to get selected because he's leaving at the end of the year but likewise so are other players who will be selected. He does have a skillset different to everyone else so if his form continues in the last three...
