The Sydney doctors aren't as used to treating people with freaky feet as the ones from Queensland.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Rugby Australia has to agree to hand back the Super Rugby licence otherwise the DOCA is dead in the water. ATO payment plans are contingent on meeting all future obligations as and when they fall due. The fact that the liability was increasing means they kept defaulting and had to create new...

His master being?!? He's just a guy with an opinion like everyone else. It doesn't mean his opinion is right or that anyone is pushing him to make it.

    Waratahs 2024

Edmed is a good goal kicker. He has been all season. The decision of kicking for the corner vs kicking for goal based on the penalty location is absolutely an analytics decision. Even if the success percentage might only be 5% lower where the penalty was moved to they've decided that in a...

    Aussie Player Exodus

I would say the fact that he hasn't been a clear first choice for the Wallabies is the reason they're not willing to commit significant dollars to him for more than 1 year. We're not even sure he's Schmidt's first choice this year.

You mean they shouldn't have committed $2.5m to building a 20 foot tall statue of Tom Carter at the Daceyville headquarters? Seemed like such a great idea at the time.

The administators' report suggesting a significant likelihood of a long period of insolvency could also push creditors to deciding it's worth pursuing the directors personally rather than accepting 15-30 cents in the dollar.

    Waratahs 2024

I think that is ultimately what has caused the financial implosion. Gutted the sponsorship and corporate revenue and that hasn't bounced back as soon as they moved back to the SFS.

I would say incredibly likely. A bunch of them clearly have significant assets.

Surely whether or not the DOCA is voted for entirely comes back to the ATO. Everyone else has nothing to gain by not voting for it whereas the ATO can (and already has) started going after the directors personally.

    Wallabies 2024

Maybe I should have said early January given administrators were appointed 29 January. I'm obviously not saying that the financial issues happened since January just that the true extent of them only became apparent after administrators were appointed.

In January the team he played for didn't have a completely uncertain future.

Couldn't put my money on Hurricanes -20.5 fast enough.

    Waratahs 2024

There's literally financial statements we can look at to understand this. There is no significant debt passed to Rugby Australia. There's no external debt at all. The issue for the Waratahs is, like other Super Rugby sides, they aren't generating enough revenue to cover their expenses. They...

    Round 11 - Waratahs v Hurricanes - Friday 5:30pm

Will Harrison gets a start. Max Jorgensen rotated out of the side for the week. With Holloway, Hanigan, Ross and Walton all out injured this looks like it could be an absolute bloodbath.

Yep, got it. That's not bank debt. They have negative equity. "The Group has a prima facie going concern issue at 31 December 2023 with a total deficit equity of $692,775 (2022: equity of $4,178,005). The liabilities in this deficit equity include $6,978,525 of deferred revenue which do not...

Where did you pick up that $700k bank debt?

    Waratahs 2024

NSWRU have already paid for the losses incurred. Their cash balance dropped a significant chunk in 2023 in doing so. There's no ongoing debt. Reading the financials there's no big debt that RA have suddenly taken up with the centralisation change (despite some earlier reports indicating that...

    Waratahs 2024

The "Other Revenue" specifically was $3.125m in 2022 and $2.9m in 2021. I have a feeling that a significant amount of that was COVID related grants but I'm not totally sure.
