    Wallabies 2024

I think the couple of games from Beale makes him a reasonably good chance of making the squad. He's arrived at the Western Force and immediately made the players around him look better and more organised. Seems like exactly the sort of experience Schmidt could want in the squad. I think he's...

    Waratahs 2025

I do too. Interestingly, the feedback I got was that his kicking game is well behind the other two which is why he's been third string for the bulk of the season. Hopefully he can improve that for next season because he's an exciting player. I do think he's well and truly in the Tahs future...

They want Joseph Sua'ali'i to play rugby. That's it. That's what they want.

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

I initially thought the same but on the replays I think this is very much something that falls into foul play territory. It would have been worse if he wasn't about 80kg wringing wet. He grabs hold of the Australian player high up around the shoulders then rolls over to the side and pulls down...

    Waratahs 2024

My assumption is as follows: There are three entities, New South Wales Rugby Union Limited, NSW Waratahs Limited and Waratahs Rugby Pty Ltd. The first entity owned the second and the second owned the third. NSWRU transferred the ownership of NSW Waratahs Limited to RA. From the 2023 financial...

    Waratahs 2024

I don't really either. I guess there's a fair bit that's still unclear about how the arrangement works. Clearly at this stage the structures in place for the Waratahs have remained the same. I guess that will change to some degree at least next year.

    Aussie Player Exodus

They haven't yet. Edmed is off contract at the end of the year. I'm disappointed to lose Harrison but I'll be incredibly disappointed if they don't retain Jack Bowen.

    Waratahs 2024

It annoys me no end. My understanding is that Bill Pulver said in 2016 "I've always been a fan of a national footprint, I think it's difficult to shrink a game to greatness, but we are one voice at a Sanzaar level, so you've got all the other countries that will be part of that discussion." So...

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

They look good to me. A small blue square instead of a massive photo of some rugby jersey.

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

Get back to me when you've got Brumby Jack replacing James Slipper in the front row... and not even good Brumby Jack. Dayne Rathbone in the Brumby Jack suit bad. Then we can talk.

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

Tahs are missing 7 of their best 23 but the biggest issue is we're playing a 5th and 6th or 7th choice hooker and about the 8th choice prop and a guy who turned up a couple of days ago (but is a great addition because otherwise we'd be fielding a guy who turned up a couple of days ago but is...

    Wallabies 2024

I don't think anyone is suggesting these players will be in the 23 but one thing the Wallabies sorely lacked last year was experience in the squad. Our backs in particular are incredibly inexperienced. Joe Schmidt went to lengths to talk about how much coaching is player to player. I think...

All sports count the participants they are able to count towards these statistics based on accepted criteria because they are linked to funding. You will not find a single sport that actively underreports their participants.

    Refereeing decisions

I'm happy with it. We're saying that the overwhelming majority of red cards are 20 minute red cards now. It's really just the Frank Lomani type incidents that are straight red cards for the remainder of the match. I personally think the system works quite well. I think it is way better being...

    SVNS Series 2023/24

Does anyone know the format? Do they just play semi finals or do all eight teams progress to the quarter finals?

We use the same criteria as every other sport though so it's a like for like comparison.

Wallaroos v Canada Saturday 11 May (Allianz Stadium)

Not sure. I didn't watch many Reds games this season but McKenzie's goal kicking was excellent. She even nailed a couple of conversions from the sideline. Seems to have more distance than most.

    Wallabies 2024

This isn't about selection though, it's about being named captain. That said, people have touted Angus Bell as a future Wallaby captain. I still think that's a good chance at some point but he's clearly going to need to stay healthy before that's on the table. Personally I think McReight is a...

Wallaroos v Canada Saturday 11 May (Allianz Stadium)

Caitlyn Halse is probably pretty unlucky not to be making her debut. I expect she'll get a crack soon. Her play has come along so much this season. Does anyone know what happened to Adiana Talakai this season? She was named in the Waratahs squad but didn't play a game. I assume she has a long...

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

Yes. He got his read in the wrong place in a tackle against New Zealand in the semi final.
