    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I still don't see why the ATO would go down a path that can only be resolved through litigation (that doesn't involve them) when they have the clear legal ability to get the funds owing directly from the directors.

    Waratahs 2025

The message I am conveying is that basically no one of any quality gets to age 21 or thereabouts as someone who is unknown to the system. We are not just unaware of kids who are fantastic players that suddenly become a surprise when they make it at the next level. I am not ignoring players who...

    Waratahs 2025

Jack Barrett's play in the under 20s this year reinforced that he is absolutely one of under 20s players who should be getting paid by the Waratahs on a Gen Blue or development contract or whatever they are called these days. That can come later. At this point he's proven himself to be one of...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

$0 based on the Waratahs 2023 financials. They lost money in 2023 but ownership of the Waratahs was transferred to Rugby Australia on the basis that they were unlikely to survive through the 2024 season not that they had debts they couldn't pay from 2023.

    Waratahs 2025

My take is that we've probably never been better at identifying talent. It's incredibly rare that someone makes with any talent makes it through to adulthood without playing in various rep teams etc. As for identifying people that might be able to step up in the future I think that is...

    Waratahs 2025

Let me guess. You're going to use the Phil Kearns example. Someone who was plucked from the obscurity of the NSW Waratahs to play for the Wallabies.

    Wallabies 2024

Skelton got better with every test he played. He unfortunately then got injured. I think Schmidt will select him in every test he possibly can. He's arguably the most world class player we have currently (which is a problem in itself).

Except the largest creditor (the ATO) voted against the deal because it was far worse for them and Rugby Australia also voted against the deal because the deal involved litigation funding to sue them. Suggesting that RA should support the deal because the creditors recommended it is farcical.

    Refereeing decisions

The 90 seconds for a conversion should be reduced to 60 seconds if the clock was stopped to check something. 90 seconds is only reasonable when that timer has started the second the whistle is blown and the kicker could theoretically be 30 metres away.

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

Yep, but likewise they know that NZRU will have nothing of value to sell so it makes it very difficult for NZRU to call their bluff.

I don't see how stopping the clock at a scrum reset increases the stoppage. You stick to exactly the same protocol as with an existing scrum reset you just aren't losing time off the clock. The TMO changes with the yellow/red card review have been great at reducing stoppages. Players going...

    Waratahs 2025

I don't think that is reasonable for Warringah and Gordon. They certainly recruited but I wouldn't have said they had outstanding squads relative to the other top teams. He was astute with his recruitment and I don't think it is crazy to think that he could have also recruited well at the...

    Refereeing decisions

I disagree with that. That play has still happened.

    Refereeing decisions

I'm saying for any resets. Such that each scrum takes the same amount of time and if the referee wants to reset it rather than call a penalty then it doesn't take additional time off the clock.

    Waratahs 2025

Just been announced that Darren Coleman won't be renewed as the head coach of the Waratahs. Not at all surprising at this point.

    Refereeing decisions

This is what I have wanted for ages. A big part of the issue is perception so fix the perception. Arguably the goal kicking change has somewhat backfired. The perception was that too much time is lost to kicking for goal but now that we've put a timer up this only becomes more clear how long...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Maybe things have changed in recent years but it was always regarded as being problematic to becoming an elite cricketer by being at a GPS/CAS school due to how short the school cricket season was and the structure of cricket season making it very difficult to play cricket outside of school.

Petaia until he got injured. He debuted in 2018. At that point Kerevi was 12 and CFS was 13.

Does it seem unlikely that the Tarneit consortium have paid through the required amounts at this point? Surely if they had they'd be shouting it from the rooftops that they had met their end of the bargain and Rugby Australia needed to act.
