    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

Sorry, I did mean to say entirely attribute. I think it's all of those things but there's a pretty crazy bad luck element in there.

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

All things being equal, the prediction at the start of the season would have been two pretty evenly matched teams competing for a similar spot on the ladder so it should have been a very important game.

No wonder you miss New Zealand.

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

It's wild that guys like Enrique Pieretto came in as a medical joker, an experienced test player and he got injured in his first game. So it's not like you can attribute it to bad S&C at the Tahs and/or guys coming in who are totally out of their depth. I'd guess Paddy Ryan is back for the...

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

The front row is awful. I'm unsure how you end up with anything different with the amount of injuries the Waratahs have had. We're well beyond the number of contracted front rowers any side has. We've even smashed through the medical joker replacements.

    Sorry, what?

I was going to say that now you can get a Whittaker's Peanut Slab or Coconut Slab at most supermarkets, what is NZ offering me?

    Holy fucking shit!

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

It's a tough one to get up for as a Waratahs fan, that's for sure.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I think the facilities available at the venue also impact this significantly in terms of the quality of the stream that is able to be uploaded.

Yeah, but with the very large amount of money I'd have left over after selling my house in Sydney and buying a comparable one in a major city in NZ I wouldn't be too upset.

It's mostly based around employment opportunities isn't it? It's easier to get a better paid job in Australia than New Zealand with similar skillsets. Cost of living in Australia is also much higher. For a rugby player, you'd potentially need to be paid more to live in Australia than NZ...

    Australian Rugby / RA

The problem is we only have enough money to pay for a certain level of talent. I absolutely think we could increase the quality of our squads by increasing the number of New Zealanders. They would definitely fill out the back end of squads with better players for the same sort of price. I...

The end point of this is that we still have to select the Wallabies team and that is where all the money comes from. Now we might reach a point where we select a lot of the Wallabies squad from overseas players but until that time we can't think that a moderate bump in the quality of our Super...

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

On the tackle height change, from watching the Shute Shield this season my view is that it has had zero negative impact on the game. There's been some penalties for tackles above the sternum but broadly it hasn't meant that players can't tackle properly or defend. It's definitely a positive...

    Wallabies 2024

Historically I agree with you. We tended to discuss the overseas form of players with very rose coloured glasses but most of those players tended towards players who had been good but not great Super Rugby players. E.g. we were excited by the return of Leroy Houston based on his overseas form...

    Waratahs 2025

I think there is a pretty clear trend though that there are more players who would potentially make the first choice Wallaby squad playing overseas and that the Wallabies have steadily slid down the World Rugby rankings.

    Waratahs 2024

Yeah, because a sponsor has paid for it to exist.

    Waratahs 2025

I am talking about talent identification in general in Australia. Not specific to the Waratahs. Historically there are definitely some issues about which players the Waratahs have targeted as priority signings from those emerging players but likewise some of it is also timing.

He's organising the end of season trip for the team.
