What the fuck are you talking about?

    SVNS Series 2023/24

That's always been an accepted practice in soccer. It isn't in rugby. You play the whistle. It has absolutely nothing to do with integrity. Have you never watched a rugby game before? How often do you see the side with the ball stop playing because a player on the opposition has gone down...

It's pretty hard to have no assets even if some assets such as your house and other property are held by your spouse. Do they have no control over trusts etc. and when did assets get put in the trust. It's also a pretty dire outcome for anyone to be made bankrupt. Let's assume you're a high...

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

It's 17 of the 23 players that played in the first match. As far as I can tell only one player in the squad who hasn't been selected after game two is Fakafanua. I also think in terms of cohesion you can't just look at changes in the starting side as being the be all and end all. Two of the...

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

I think it's essentially a case of these being trial games for the Under 20 World Cup so they want to get everyone involved as much as possible. We similarly rotate our squad through three matches each year in preparation for the tournament.

Everyone plays the whistle. We'd have done exactly the same if the situation had been reversed. There's plenty of space on the Sevens field. There was no stopping our training staff coming onto the field to render assistance.

Some Brisbane suburbs are pretty shit.

"The Rebels consortium must jump two hurdles before it can retain control of the company: Rugby Australia handing back the licence for the Super Rugby competition, and the Australian Taxation Office releasing the directors from their personal liability over the club’s $11.5 million in tax...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I don't think it moves the needle where the event is located though. The atmosphere in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will not be any different on the night of the final based on where the game is actually being played. The overwhelming majority of rugby fans won't be at the game regardless...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

If you go out on a big rugby night in Sydney (let's say a Bledisloe Cup game) you can go to a pub showing it and lots of people will be there to watch it. You go to a pub just down the road that isn't a sports pub or pass by people on the street and no one gives two shits about it. I would say...

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

There were some terrible tactics by us. We couldn't throw a lineout straight very often and when we did we lost it. We still kept kicking for touch most of the time from penalties. The Argies contested our throws so when they weren't straight it went to a scrum. Meanwhile we barely contested any...

Meanwhile do you think the general atmosphere in Sydney would be substantially different?

    Round 11 - Waratahs v Hurricanes - Friday 5:30pm

The Tahs are hoping to have one at the end of the year. I guess it has largely come down to financial issues. Hard to commit hundreds of thousands of dollars to an end of season tour if you're worried you won't be able to fund the next season. I agree it would have benefited the team though.

    Waratahs 2024

The Waratahs squad has basically the same makeup in terms of positions as every year and every other squad in the competition.

    Waratahs 2024

I rate Walton higher than I rate Tuipuluto. I'm not sure there was a better way the Tahs should have gone here.

    Waratahs 2024

I don't think that's accurate at all. We had the requisite number of front rowers contracted. It just happened that all our injuries are in the same spot. The alternative you seem to be suggesting is that we only have one or two backs on contract who don't make the matchday 23. If everyone...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Weird take. The Rugby World Cup Final is going to sell out wherever it is played and will be filled with a combination of die hard rugby fans and fans of pinnacle type events.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

This is the crux of it. If the legal threats were taken off the table then I'd guess RA would vote for the DOCA immediately. As it stands they would be voting for the Rebels former directors receiving funding to launch legal action against Rugby Australia which regardless of their merits would...
