Cheap shot, but still funny.
Bit like comparing an apple to an orange Bullrush...wasn't Quade at the back on defence? It's a given, Carter is a way better defender, and Cooper really needs to improve his defensive game but, Carter had more opportunity to make tackles.
I'm wondering whether, with an erratically brilliant 5/8 like Quade, having a second 5/8 option is the way to go? When things aren't quite working for QC (Quade Cooper), a Giteau or O'Connor at 12 would open up attacking options, give Cooper breathing space and a chance to regain composure, and present the opposition with a few more questions in defence. The two crash baller options in the Centres doesn't allow for this latitude.
I seriously would love to Know how this fits into the AB's stratagy (not being a smart arese with this question)? How many did Nonu make? Was Carters defensive load strategic to keep other players fresh?
Where Quade was poor was his skills were below par (by his own standards). His kicking and passing game was poor which is unusual for him. Good players will have bad days though.
I would be happy to see it tried and I think JOC (James O'Connor) will be a great centre but I want to find out whether he and Cooper will compliment eachother. There is only one way to find out.
For me, a decision has to be made between Gits and Barnes for back-up 12. If McCabe gets the nod this weekend, there is simply no time to bed down JOC (James O'Connor) at Test level at 12, and develop a combination to face the running lines and smarts of Ireland's O'Driscoll, who'll slice up any hesitancy. I think Barnes will get the nod and he can slot in just fine if McCabe is exposed in any of the next two upcoming tests.

Just happy to see it finally tried. Not saying it is my prefered option. My biggest issue for that inside centre gig is to run the backline defence. The two big performers in this role are Barnes and Ant Fainga'a and my prefered option is a two horse race between these two. Barnes is a bit more heavy on experience and Ant has the form this year. Both are proven to work well with Cooper also.
I agree. Ideally I'd love to see Barnes slot straight in to 12.
I can't lie, I did have hope a few weeks ago with McCabe in that jersey. He's a bloody hard worker, you have to give him that. But we really do need a foil for Cooper, and Barnes gives us that cool head, leadership and defence that we require. I really hope he's good to go come WC time.
Funny enough Cooper seems to bring the best out in Barnes. That nasty habit of kicking good ball away tends to disapear when they combine.
As a Wallabies fan I'm happy to see the All Blacks in a RWC knockout high pressure match. They always seem to wilt under pressure (in a RWC knockout match that is).
Sorry couldn't help myself.
I'd love to see McCabe be a successful Wallaby as I love his attitude. However, in the last 12 months our backline has functioned best with Genia - Cooper - Barnes as the playmakers. McCabe could still be an option elsewhere on the paddock, but Berrick remains our best 12 IMHO.
no problem, but you are inaccurate. We have won more knock out RWC games than we have lost and are undefeated in RWC knockout games in New Zealand.
tell me, where is that tournament happening again
Since when does a joke have to be accurate?
But I will play your game.

Is that better?
