Im just sick and tired of the dick head eastern state jurnos pushing thier agenders and hating on the Force.

You really think there is some uber-conspiracy by the media in this country to discredit the Western Force?

It's all about you, right? Or do you have selective memory and forget that the "dick head Eastern states journo's" regularly slate the Tahs for being boring, and a few years ago, the Reds for not being able to win a raffle in a pub?

The Brumbies were recently a rudderless basket case and the journo's didn't mind kicking that pony while it was down.

I suppose one day the Rebels will get a panning but for now no-one really knows they exist in Melbourne.

And do you think that maybe, just maybe, the Force have done themselves no favours with getting into the media for the right reasons lately? Yes, I think so too.

Ease up on the conspiracy theories and going off half-cocked. The isolation over there is extreme, I know, but just take a deep breath.

It not about the games. It's about the players. Whenever we have some decent signing there is always some dickhead talking about them leaving. Genia got a load of crap in the press before he even signed anything.

MMM signed a 1 year contract to keep the going home option Alive on 2014.

He is getting a little long in the tooth, I'm sure given the option between playing for a contender (reds) or playing for the force (wooden spooners) then he would choose the Reds. (That's my logic anyways)

No disrespect to the force with my last comment (wooden spooners) I'm a fan of the franchise but even I can see they're about 5 positions to short from bring contenders.

The Reds played the Force and the ARU with the Genia debacle.

They should never been aloud to get away with what they did. People say it was the Force that let it slip to the media after telling anyone who would listen on the Saturday of the game.

But look it this way Timmy "we are red" Horan announced it all in the pre game then before half time we have a press statement from the reds Confirming that Genia is going to the force. Coincidence…?

The ARU contract guide lines mean they should not have been able to comment on the situation yet nothing was ever done.

The ARU had an investigation into the whole matter but because it ended up a he said she said they just swept it aside.

And before anyone say to get over the whole Genia thing I am but I’m just stating what happened.

The Force were fined $110k for even talking to a Tahs player when "THEY SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN" yet nothing comes of this whole shit fight.

That’s what pisses Force people of when they is one rule for some and another for others. Then you get idiots like Harris and Growden who come out with this kind of shit article which has no substance and serves nothing to help the stability of the club.

Well he has already won a wooden spoon with the Reds remember 2007? the Force have one aswell from 2006.

Along with a better contract he came to Perth because of his friendship with Richard Brown the Reds wanted him he could have gone there if he wanted by he didnt.

I don't know if that's too true (about the reds could of have had him)

When he arrived back in Brisbane last year we had already filled our last senior spot with Jono Owen.

I'm sure there's a chance he could stay but the 1 year contract must have the alarm bells ringing in Force land because like Folau the 12 month contract is about keeping all options open.

My wooden spoon comment was in reference to that MMM has never played for a winner, he has earned the right to come home and be a cog in a championship team.

I'm with ya mate but let's not go back anymore than this.
Defiantly a stupid article.

Translation

Hugh McMeniman is ready to leave the Japanese league, currently under the Kubota Spears the 28-year old second / third line of the Wallabies (21 caps) had long been courted by Stade Toulousain and Racing-Métro, but the Top 14 preferred a return to the Super Rugby. The former player of the Queensland Reds has long been in contact with his former team, so much so that the Australian media to take it for a fact its engagement with the franchise based in Brisbane, but his friendship with Richard Brown would finally convinced her to move to Perth to play with Western Force. The news was reported by the French media, but not yet the official

That's a very lose translation mate and I'm pretty sure its dated/written after the fact that Jono Owen was signed with the Reds. If we had a spot to offer him then I am sure he would of been playing rugby back home.

Anyhow I can see why Brett Harris floated the name MMM for the Beumbies, what other no6/locks are off the books next year to fill the Kimlin void?

I don’t mind players looking to get the most out of their time in the game but the article is written in away that is makes out he wants out. for 2 years now we have had to put up with this type of article first JOC (James O'Connor) then Poey and now after playing 1 game Harris comes out with this. that’s what makes me so pissed.

after the game last week i have been in a very bad mood so nothing against you or anyone else its just starting to get old and I’m sick of people digging the knife into the force. 7 years of fighting against the establishment the Force will come good hopefully they have turned the corner with a new CEO about to come on board that had a hand in turning the Brumbies into they power they were in the early 2000's and maybe a smig of help from the Eastern forces at the ARU

TL;DR version: Force are good, give them time.

To quote the guy with the sign at the REBvBRU game on Friday: Love Rugby, Hate the ARU
And the media is shit every team. All last season it was about how the Brumbies are going to fall over, the Tahs will go bankrupt, the Reds can't win without Cooper, the Rebels can't win without the old guard and the Force can't keep their players.
We all know this isn't true but it gets hurled at us anyway.

The Force are a good and (generally) consistent team. Losing by 1 point to the Crusaders, Hurricanes, Bulls, ect. is so much better than beating the Crusaders one week and losing to the Hurricanes by 2000 the next. All they need is a good forwards coach to tell the tight five how to do their job and a 10 who can tell the backline what to do and they will set the world on fire.

In fact, I'd say the Force forwards are almost all Wallabies. The backs just need time and a leader and they will have their day. Consistency is a problem for teams like the Highlanders, Cheetahs and Rebels and will be for a few years. The Force just need a season with a good 10 and a good coach. That is just one year.

I appreciate the comments from Shiggins and Gaffachino, I also feel the east coast press has a slightly perceptible vindictive streak in reporting on the Forces key players leaving us. But I don't feel they have any material affect.

Digby left because he missed his family, JOC (James O'Connor) carried on like a prat and left the Force will little option but to cut him loose (don't forget, that's how it happened) and Pocock was understandably sick of the incompetent Force management.

But that Harris article really was a steaming pile of dog turd.

I was reading Pocock's book and he said that he and James had talked it through and he completely agrees with James leaving. No real details but I don't see why he'd bring it up just to lie.

But james wasnt leaving untill the force kicked him out a fact seldom remembered.

I have not read Pococks book, Has he lived an interesting life?

I think it's very niave for a man so young whom is not even halfway through his rugby career to step out and write a book. Most people pen their autobiographies once they've achieved something... Hell Pocock hasn't even won a Bledisloe Cup yet!!!

Basically I'm a far leaning conservative voter & I don't have time for his socialist view on twitter. I know he is a talented footballer but everything else about him is garbage in my eyes.

He's interesting enough, I agree that it's too early for a book. The missus knows I love my rugby and went to the bookstore and asked for rugby autobiographies and bought both Opensides :p

The things I brought from it are:
He leaves Rugby to be Rugby and doesn't mess around with that
He has much more total playing experience as a back but has been a 7 for his professional career
Giteau is a very team oriented player and is the reason the Force reached 7th
O'Connor is young (like him) and they have both faced the same sort of problems at the Force
John Mitchell is a very astute coach
Deans wants the young guys to enjoy Super Rugby and the JWC before they entertain the idea of a Wallabies call up
