Well the selections worked for the last game and we are 1/1. In Schmidt we trust.
This is why I say it is a relatively recent thing. It's obviously incumbent on a team that can manage itself to a degree and there are a lot of captains in the squad. Is it? Which team doesn't have a full time captain?
In a further boost to the side, Schmidt confirmed centre Len Ikitau will likely be available for the Georgia Test as he deals with a hamstring complaint.
"Lenny’s tracking really well. He should run at full speed by latest Saturday which puts him in the selection frame for next week," he added.
"With a young squad, if we don't give them time and I know I talked about the runway already, I just think having that clarity, as I said, I only met these guys two weeks ago.
"There's a lot to cover and we're trying to keep the menu fairly tight but to be really good with what we do have."
Got to be honest, I don’t see the massive motor bit. He can make an impact though. His hands let go down a bit but he can break the line.Langi...has a massive motor...but a currently high error rate.
Given the amount of box-kicking last week, I suspect it's more tactics from the coach than a Pavlovian response from the half.If Nic can curb his impulse to box kick on every possession and instead feed his backline a bit...
Did he concern himself with the wide channels much last week?I'm sure we will see more attack out wide and good support play from CC.
Contrary to G I think this will free up Valetini to take the ball up and support the breakdown without concerning himself with the wider channels an 8 is expected to cover.
