Yeh the McKenzie situation and even Rennie getting the arse for essentially the worst coaching appointment in Australian history aren't great examples to support you Tommy.

After the Reds press conference, I'm starting to lean more into Kiss being nominated as the new coach and it may happen after the Moana game.

He played too straight of a bat when asked about it all.

I reckon it's going to be either ROG or Kiss getting announced at the end of the weekend.

Further to this - Cheika had previously 'interviewed' for the Reds gig but essentially ruled himself out by saying he couldn't commit to in person interviews as he was committed to coaching overseas at the time. Potentially RA meeting with him to take the Reds on?.,..

A guy completely losing the locker room to the point of anarchy and the Wallaby coach with one the lowest win % in history makes my point quite well actually

I reckon ROG is a bit of a gamble as a choice but one that I'm in for. He's the next big thing in Europe.

Plus it would be good to keep the Super Rugby coaches where they are through to RWC27, if possible.

We probably don't have the personalities (or natural talent) necessary for that level of fallout to reoccur. ROG also doesn't seem like the type to suffer it.

Wait, are you claiming his reign went well?

I'm not arguing about the reasons, but the fact is he oversaw a period of absolute ridiculousness off the field. My point is this stuff can happen with a first time national head coach

No, just the sentence I quoted was not accurate...

And that off field stuff had been bubbling away by the same characters while Deans was in charge...

And we're not going down that road.

This is also a bit of a concern. O'Gara is a well noted hot head, has have over 20 weeks of suspensions total due to conduct. And we all know how maddening the Wallabies job would be

He copped a two week suspension 5 months ago!

This is the thing I'm worried about under Cheika.

How much has he truly mellowed. Under his last reign, which in fairness also coincided with the Moore captaincy era, we were one of the most penalised and carded teams in the world - and had terrible relationships with referees. We don't need another "us against the world" type of combatant coach.

I believe they said McDonald was not being considered when they announced his role at the Force. Realistically it is O'Gara and Cheika.
Cheika has grown from the run it at all costs coach and his players love him. O'Gara sounds like a hard task master who gets the best out of his players, having learnt a lot form JS.
The question is can we go back to Cheika?
I love the idea of the current side having a hard task master. It's a young and talented group that who I think could benefit from a bit of the younger generation of coaches. We are building through to the WC not doing a smash n grab which Chieka would be the candidate for at this point in his career. We don't need this process again in 2 years it's time for Cheika to go again.

We need a bit of an era under a coach to let things settle and grow. Yes ROG is a gamble but on the board of whos available he seems like a stock on the rise and we have a chance to grab him.

Don’t know if anyone saw the Inside Line show on Stan last night but some interesting tidbits in between Goog and Horan’s dribble.

Iain Payton was implying that the Cheika & Waugh meeting was very much initiated by Cheika and that he likely isn’t/wasnt high on RA’s list. Generally saying that RA are wanting to make sure they run a proper process and can say they’ve spoken to every possible candidate etc
