It was a three day training camp in January. Why would they be named?I checked the Squad of 40, correct if if I am wrong, but I couldn't find either Skelton or Kerevi on the list. If right, Schmidt is being entirely consistent.

And all were included in Schmidt's Wallaby squads before injury (Wright and Cale certainly, think Leota might have been there also). Common sense should have dictated their inclusion in this January get together because they will replace some who only came into the squad as injury cover. We do have Wright, Leota and Cale coming back from injury for the #20 jersey
BR,Sully, "Kiss seems good" is nothing more than a Reds fan's beat up at the moment. He certainly hasn't done anything at Super level yet to promote him as the best local candidate for the Wallabies. He just might do it this year with the help of a couple of redundant Rebels coming on board, buit I would expect any improvement to be more noticeable in the forwards than in the backs. But the forwards are not the Reds' issue - they were strong there in 2024. The backs have a lot more questions to answer in my book.
A No 9 verging on brilliant in one aspect of halfback play but seripusly underperforming in his passing game. An unproven No 10 with little experience at Super level who by his own admission needs to improve his core kicking skills even though most Reds fans think that's where he excels. A No 12 who has question marks about his defencie skills and who tends to starve his outside backs of attacking ball. A promising No 13 who really has yet to prove himself at Super level. A tyro winger who could just be anything and I expect him to be a Wallaby this year. A discard (?) from the Rebels on the other wing. And a No 15 who is probably on the downhill slope. All in all, probably not one starter who is considered a lock-in for the Wallabies. If Kiss can meet the high expectations being thrown around by some on this site (and elsewhere) by making it through to the Super Rugby final (note, that making the semi-finals in three successive years is not regarded by some as being successful) then he will be in the mix for the next Wallaby coach appointment, but he has a mountain in front of him imo.
Jock Campbell isn't a fullback that trades on only his athleticism.BR,
Just don't tell Campbell who you are, or he might drop kick you in the arse right over the goal posts.![]()
yeah that was my point.. don’t know why people are getting up in arms about their exclusion from a training camp when they’re still in rehab from injuries sustained last year and couldn't have participated in half the shit anyway.Neither Leota or Wright have been included in this camp. I think at the time it was announced they said the camp was focused on those that went on the EOYT (Aus XV included) with it in part serving as retrospective for that tour, and a wallabies medical before those players enter pre-season proper (those that didn't tour or rehabbing long term injuries will be on different pre-season timelines). Cale's exclusion on those terms makes plenty of sense, as does his inclusion now to drill home the message about signing overseas.
I dont mind the camp. Keeping a form of continuity can't hurt and if it helps light a fire of competition on those in the group and those not selected then great.yeah that was my point.. don’t know why people are getting up in arms about their exclusion from a training camp when they’re still in rehab from injuries sustained last year and couldn't have participated in half the shit anyway.
Only that McDermott won and Donaldson came 2nd. Apparently the officials chose specifically not to release specific times.View attachment 20939
Anyone have/seen the fitness results?
Wonder how Hooper and Poey went. I'd assume Poey would beat his time/weight ratio through sheer will power. The results in these things pretty much just end up aligning with player's weight don't they? (says the bitter old ex-tight forward)
Check his instagram/facebook lately. He’d still be up the top of every metric today.Wonder how Hooper and Poey went. I'd assume Poey would beat his time/weight ratio through sheer will power.
You'd think Hooper would have been pretty good at this.Wonder how Hooper and Poey went. I'd assume Poey would beat his time/weight ratio through sheer will power.
League often put out the times which is fun reading. Tom Gilbert the Dolphins Prop getting a 4:12 which is absurd.Bronco chat - just like a 2km time trial in the AFL - is peak preseason and I fucken love it
Not quite. It's a 1.2km time trial with a 20m, 40m, 60m shuffleIs the feared Bronco test a beep test?

No, but it's not dissimilar:Is the feared Bronco test a beep test?
What is the bronco test?
It’s a simple test. Place four markers at 0 m, 20 m, 40 m and 60 m.
Run from 0m-60m-0m-40m-0m-20m-0m (total distance of 240m).
That is one rep, you need to complete five reps as fast as possible.
