Oh, we used to do something similar. Shuttle runs working your way up the field, 22, 40, 50 opp 40, opp 22 opp goal line, then work back down. Fucking painful

We called them suicides - not sure if there's another name for it? Absolutely horrendous as an unfit, uncoordinated teenager.

I have fond memories of getting yellow carded one game, then as punishment at the following training my coach made me stand in the middle of the field whilst my team mates did broncos around me as I did nothing and watched in some strange attempt at guilting me. Don't think his intended lesson quite got through.

Apparently 5/6 is not a position of need for the Chiefs, either. Bit of a weird one all round (except for Hooper IMO).

As always - the loss of depth is a real killer. But he is certainly not an immediate loss to the Wallabies IMO. Many options at lock and 6 well ahead of him.

Cheifs roster moves have consistently been slightly odd. Last season or the one before they had 4 looseheads who were all in and around starting premiership quality but lacked depth in other positions.

article about Schmidt discussions. They are clearly exploring options which would see Schmidt have some ongoing involvement after the Lions series finished. sounds complex

I agree Barbarian, if Schmidt wants to move on then we shouldn't attempt to keephim in an oversight role. He can go back to retirement and look after his family. Whoever is the incoming coach, I am sure Schmidt will take a phone call if there are some areas the new coach wants to discuss with him.
The Australian game has kick-started and we are all thankful that Schmidt stepped into the hole left by Eddie V2. He has also set some expectations of performance that a new coach could run with.

Schmidt is a well rounded and highly experienced person. I would have full confidence that he would only take on a role for which he is fully qualified. We should keep him on our side, one way or another.

The problem isn't keeping Schmidt part time. The problem is who then we can attract to be the second fiddle (the person is actually going to be the full time coach).

Someone like Schmidt wouldn't accept being under someone like Schmidt

Ronan O'Gara? They have a good relationship already. Things are turning south at La Rochelle, so time for Ronny to jump ship and he would need a hand with the step up to international.

You should really use an emoji when you a joke as dry as this. In the case it is not simply being funny, consider the bold text. And then tell me you want that in the cv of whoever is our next HC. You've just proven Strewthcobber's generalism.
