No surprises their Poyton has so much speed to burn!! NRL will turn him into another Papi!! May not be big but tough as nails.

Meat Tray didn’t make the team for different reasons and apparently is playing colts at Norths turning his back on his junior club because they wouldn’t guarantee selection.

An Australian U18s Rugby 7s team is crossing the ditch for the Global Youth 7s held 13th-17th December In Auckland. I’ve heard a team has been selected but can’t find it posted anywhere. Does anyone know who was selected

Selection is earnt not guaranteed. If he is good enough he will make the grade. No one is guaranteed selection.
Yeah, if that is the reason so what. Tend to think they always where going if it's happened so quick.

I don't know what position Le maitre plays in league at a higher level? Dummy Half? He's not the biggest forward and would be smaller than Cam Murray/Connor Watson who probably compares closest in build and playing background.

Wonder if it'll be another Charlie Rorke situation of half a dozen State Cup games then told we don't think you'll make it then a few random pro rugby appearances around the place.

Not sure but I'd say Mule is referring to the game mid March, think around 15th, I believe U18s and U20s are playing. Don't know too much regarding 18s, but 20s will be pretty much all age eligible Academy players with a few non Academy guys who played 19s to fill spots

They played a similar game last year but earlier in the year i think. Team were mostly the previous season U16s with any returning U18s so not overly intresting at this stage.

Was a decent amount of changes from that game to the later year games which I think is a positive from selectors.

My understanding is the the Tahs 18 squad is made up with a heap of the boys that were in the Tahs 16s squad when they were that age and you would presume, any boy that was in both the 18s Tahs and Aus. squads. I think when this age group were in the 16s they were overwhelmingly dominant against the Reds

Was good to see QLD give NSW a good shake in the Final though last year. Nobody has come close to pushing them which isn't good in terms of pushing players to a higher level. Real long term and resource dependant it would be good to see trans-tasman games between regions as well as national fixtures. Right now our 16s and 18s only get a hard game when it's NSW v QLD. Then we pick a national side to go play NZ or go to the UK.

I was referring to the “Academy Series” of 2 games to be shortly played, I’ve heard a few names picked (with many not due to committing to league Harold Matts and SG Ball) and training underway ….

Last year they picked the top (perceived at the time) players and then announced the PONI squad….
