Hi everyone.
Consider this a blanket warning - any more personal pot-shots will be carded.
Any more repetitive crap on the ref topic will be carded.
Any more general shit-stirring will be carded.
The Crusaders will win the Super 15 title and for the best possible reason. They'll win because they are the best side in the Super 15 by a country mile. All the earthquake and its aftermath did was give the other sides more of a chance by forcing, and encouraging, the Crusaders to undergo a draining travel schedule and robbing them of certain extra points against the Hurricanes.
The Crusaders will hold the trophy aloft yet again - the precocious, speedy but underpowered Reds have little chance, despite home advantage.
With a home ground, these Crusaders would have secured a final on it and there isn't a team in this Super 15 who could beat them in Christchurch. Todd Blackadder's squad has thrived on adversity and a packed Suncorp Stadium will only encourage their test-hardened lineup while the home side is the one more likely to be anxious and overawed.
On the other side of the coin, the Blues were atrocious in Brisbane.....

I'm glad the Crusaders are in the final - it's a sure thing sell out and beating the Crusaders will mean a lot more in a World Cup year than just beating the most famous Super Rugby team. Come on RedsHappy, you gunna agree with me or what?
Not that I want to dwell on this ref issue (as the issue seems to have been hacked to death of those board) but I would like to add some food for thought. I personally dont like to worry about the ref too much in most games. they are professionals and generally I have confidence that theyll do the best job they can on the day to call it down the middle. it doesn't bother me that refs aren't neutral. And I try not to blame the ref, even when I feel hard done by, because if you cant dominate the game enough to take the ref out of it then it's anyone game.
However, it does concern me that a Kiwi is reffing this game simply because this is such a huge game for NZ rugby. This game means everything, not just to the downtrodden citizens of Christchurch, but to the whole of NZ who desperately want 2011 to be NZ's year. I think deep down Bryce would like to see the Crusaders win this comp for the people of Christchurch. I'm certainly not suggesting he wont try to be impartial but he may subconsciously shy away from any controversial decisions, or the NZ public will crucify him.
Put it this way, if he's placed in the same situation as Dicko was in, with 1 minute to go in the game, do you think he'll blow his whistle against McCaw and hand the game to the Reds? ......i hope so.
Let's hope the Crusaders have been reading the NZ Herald.... perhaps Link should print this story out and stick it up in the Reds sheds to use as motivation actually. Is this bloke serious?? http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10736159
Cheers for the advice Charger. Anything else to add?
