Kings/Highlanders

Highlanders rock up to hugely palatial and utterly, utterly empty Kings stadium with the B team, ready to clock in and pick up the piss easy bonus point W and holy shit they almost come a cropper. Faaahk, the stadium, there wouldve been 800 people there. I see the highlights package made a point of limiting wide frame shots haha. Gate receipts wise, barely even worth turning on the lights.

Looking very dicey at 18-20 at 65 mins and entire Highlanders side playing like punchdrunk bums. Bench come on and bail them out, especially Osbourne.

Sopoaga a kicking klown. Just fuck up after fuck up. Not helped at all by debutante halfback Toma who spent entire 65mins painstakingly looking exactly where he was going to pass..... and then passing it there. Never once even LOOKED to the other side let alone considered a snipe. Unwavering metrognome. Wholly predictable for Kings to just waltz over and shut it down as they knew EXACTLY where it was going every time

The ginge Booth a big improvement when he came on.

800 people? You sure you counted every person in every crowd shot and totalled it up as your count seemed very generous. I though it was the stadium cleaners in the stands!

The stadium shots were great, but WTF was that abomination on the field? If i were a Highlanders fan i would have removed my eyeballs with a spoon as it would have been more enjoyable!

Kicking Klown = understatement. I did not ever think he could be that bad.

Wow the kings looked good for 65mins.

Lions claimed 34,000. I think a few more locals might jumped the barriers. Wonderful atmosphere especially when the singing started.

A welcome change from many SA derbies I have watched this season.

Hglnaders have done the business in Arg.

Creevy off early, Jags lineout lost around 6 of their own throws. Still on 3 wins this season. For all their internationals, they seem to be unsure of their identity, are they a mauling team, a scrumming team, run and gun, offloading, kick for territory, they seem to dabble in all facets without mastering any of them and thus proceed to fuck up all of them and lose.

It's a pretty big risk they're taking as they're only a point ahead of the Chiefs & two n front of Crusaders.

It's a bizarre decision by the Lions. The bookies have priced them in for 0 points from this game now and while the Jaguares have had a poor season they have looked dangerous at times. Against a second-string Lions they will be out for blood.

The Lions are highly likely to lose and if they lose by more than 7 any of the four Kiwi teams could catch them. Chiefs and Crusaders don't even need a BP to do it.

Considering their fortress is at home at altitude I would have thought they would be pulling out all the stops to ensure they are minor premiers. None of the SA teams travel terribly well.
