Tuputupu cops 3 weeks for high tackle despite being in a fairly good position, bent at the waist and parallel to the ground at contact (although arm was cocked). I think there was a dip from the ball carrier but judiciary found there wasnn't
Think SANZAAR/WR (World Rugby) need to provide some clarity on these sort of front on, ball carrier bent-over tackles. Obviously a lot of confused punters and commentators out there ("what else could he do?")

This is bloody tough on Tuputupu. It's hard to see what he did wrong here. He was clearly low enough to make the tackle and the player dropped into him. I'm not sure what the people on the judiciary were looking at.

Not too bad a result for the Blues, all things considered. Blues should put the Drua away without a fuss in the QF, meaning the Brumbies (who should do likewise against the Highlanders) will have to come back to town for another bollocking.

For comparison - if wikipedia data is accurate, the Reds had 101,610 through the gate this year, nearly 20% more than the Chiefs

Annoying that the Blues aren't included/don't publish their numbers. The only attendances I know of are ~26k for the Hurricanes and ~22k for the Chiefs. I'd expect the Crusaders at the start of the season would've been in that range which would put them at ~70k with four more home matches to add in.

Doing the editing for Super Rugby Crowds on Wikipedia often means finding the same ol reliable sources from time to time. Main thing is waiting ages for end of season annual reports from the Waratahs, Blues and Canes. Provided the Blues and Canes don't take games elsewhere, they will have a fully accurate average published. The Waratahs annual reports are especially interesting in that they document the attendances for every game they play home/away/neutral.
On the crowd averages, it is disappointing they don't break it down by individual game. This just leads to assumptions rather than factual data and as allued to earlier the Waratahs reports are able to capture every number, so why not tell the public.
Discussion surrounding the 4 NZ team crowd averages needs to mention some caveats. Mainly that rugby and cricket grounds should never be joined together. It makes seats further away from the field which detracts from overall atmosphere. Overall, crowd sizes in NZ are manageable without being superb and are considerably better on a per-capita basis when taking into account how many people live in Dunedin and Hamilton.
