Hurricanes didn't train yesterday & the Assistant Coach confirmed that there's Covid "in our environment". Thursday's Blues v Hurricanes women has already been cancelled & called a draw, I'm expecting 'canes v Moana to be postponed as early as toda
The reason Canes didn't train was to keep everyone apart after Aumua tested positive on Saturday, they have to give it 3 days before they clear rest of squad, Gibbes was on TV last night saying game was looking ok as they were getting a few from outside of squad on standby, and as long as they can field a team they will play.

Ioane is the one shining light this year for Rebels, what a monster. Apparently against the Fijians he also tackled at 22/24. Boy can play

Thanks Reg. Watching Perese's highlights from his re-signing announcement, it's remarkable how many of his breaks start from broken play - not necessarily the turnover/kick-return type of broken play, but where he's cleaning up after a play goes wrong. Such an impressive option in that situation. No surprise he tops the defenders beaten given those scenarios.

Something that despite our results that I'm always pleased to see in Australian Rugby is a willingness to innovate and introduce new ideas to the game. Some of the most recent have been the 50/22 -22/50 and goal line dropouts. Which brought a lot of hand wringing on announcement of their adoption by WR (World Rugby) but now from what I've seen across several platforms have been widely accepted and even praised.

This time it's a tech innovation. The first professional Rugby comp to introduce smart balls.

Apparently Nine and Stan will use this first weekend as a trial to see how they can employ this in their broadcast. Will be interesting to see what comes of this.

Round four and things don’t get any easier for the Rebels when they take on the Brumbies, hopefully we will see an improve showing by the Rebels. Brumbies by fifteen, motm Brown.
Tahs v Force could be the match of the round, Force are fielding their strongest team and will win by ten, motm Pasitoa.
The Drua will be on a high from last weeks break through win, but the Reds are playing themselves into form and will be too strong and clinical. Reds by twenty motm Uru.

Maybe the blues should design a smart ball that:
- has special magnets that sticks to blues players so the dopey bastards don’t drop the bsll
- is directed to only travel between the posts when kicked by a blues player but outside the posts when kicked by a non blues player

See there you go dismal your plan for world rugby domination by the blues can finally be fulfilled.

So they've postponed a third Moana Pasifika game in four rounds.

When exactly are they going to catch these up? Seems like it will be impossible.

There is only one bye week in the competition. Of course, the three teams Moana will need to play are all scheduled to be playing in the week Moana has their bye.

Yeah, I took a look at the bye weeks and played around, this monstrosity was the best I could do:

Green is the rescheduled games, yellow have had the date changed within the round and red are games swapped between rounds.

The end result is a lot of 4 and 5 day turn arounds and it sees Moana play both the Hurricanes and the Blues twice in a row, which at least makes the tight turn arounds a bit fairer. Drop one of those additional games and it becomes much more workable though. With round 10 being the super round there's not much more room to push aside from shuffling the order of some of those games to give the sides a more even turn around.
