Geez that was good!! And confirmed a few things I thought. Mounga has got the makings of a bloody good 10, Goodhue also may have a future in the game. Nathan Harris will go back in AB squad, Sam Cane is still not bad, as id ALP, and McKenzie.

Cruden ran some capers yet stuffed up enough penalty shots to, in the end, cost them the game.

Bit weird to tune in and see packed stands full of happy cheering people. So used to seeing huge cavernous stadiums with acres and acres of empty seats in Super Rugby now. Should play 5 games a year in Suva.

Did I see Sumo Stevenson’s legs at halftime? I’m trying to unsee what cannot be unsawn. His nana’s dress, his nana’s shoes, and oh God no, his nana’s cankles. Oh Jesus, the legs. Haven't seen the game yet as I really took one for the team: took the mrs to the Warriors at Waikato Stadium. In the wet. In the green (read: no alcohol allowed) zone. FFS how do they expect people to watch 5kick without access to beer? Esp the Warriors............

Anyhoo, hoping to catch a replay at some stage. Was worried about the run in, thought we might drop up to three of the last five but it's two up, two down so I'm almost ready to believe we could go through with just one or at worst two (Rebs & Clan pre-break, 'canes after it). #iwanttobelieve

Matt Duffie appears to have cost his side the game with a stoopid YC, his second of the match (didn't see the first so no idea if justified or not) so off he goes with 12min left & Bloos trailing by a point............

EDIT: Stormers 30-22 Bloos, time all but up. Last Stormers try must've been dodgy as, van Heydrich sent it upstairs. Luckily Veldsman is the TMO so we can have total confidence in the decision Sorry Dismal. No, I really am this time.

You right Ullrich, there was certainly some interesting interpretations of the laws both ways. Was interested to see that Treeby's tackle that knocked out Francis was only a penalty and no YC, but probably the one that annoyed me a little was I got the impression that it looked a bit to me like there was a couple of times he let players go back through the maul with the ball instead of passing it back, ie not bound and then rejoining. Anyway it was a good result for Stormers, and one that was needed to help stop the comp looking even more ridiculous with the bottom team in one conference beating top of another.

Taking a Dismal post to heart I see. Interesting approach.

Not surprisingly taking the teams out of it, the level of officiating last night was woeful. There were dud calls all over the place.

At least the Stormers look like they are going to be v tough to beat in their home quarterfinal. The same doesnt look likely for the Aussie conference.

Nah, Dismal has taken it lower than this before.

To be fair though, when this refereeing performance was predicted well before this game and others this season, it does indicate there is an issue.

Then Francis gets smashed into next week “TAKE IT EASY MY STORMER FRIEND.” No red, no yellow. Ofa should’ve been YC for his head high too. Then the double movement try?
