Bradley I agree totally. The club was forced to focus on it's juniors due to it's financial mess that has left it a fair way behind the eight ball. If Gordon retained it's Colts which it usually puts out 3 very competitive teams they would have some very competitive grade sides this unfortunetly does not happen.

Since Fear moved on Recruitment has been a poor area and is a very weak point. Stop bringing in players from overseas is a start unless they are willing to play for match payments. Support our Juniors and offer country players employment and help in finding accommodation(originally) will help provide the club with a stable playing base. Another thing is too offer opportunity(Greenway).

From the position the club is taking now I can't see Gordon being a power in the next few seasons.

Dave Harvey was subbed about half-way through the second half, and spat the dummy in a big way. He stormed off the field into the sheds, then stalked out with his jersey, which he threw towards the subs bench, then back into the sheds, almost tearing the gate off its hinges on his way from the field. Something is obviously not right in the playing ranks.

Harvey wanted out of the Highlanders at the start of the season and even signed a contract with Eastwood for two years. The contract was withdrawn by the Woodies when it came to light that Harvey still had two years to run on his Gordon contract. I think he has played well in most games and he and Berryman are probably their best backs.

He threw an absolutely beautiful flick pass under pressure, and passed long well once he got into the swing of things.

Unfortunately he also dropped the ball while running sideways in his own in-goal under pressure. Bad look!

He's always been a spoilt little prima donna at the best of times though...................and IMHO, if he left Gordon at end of year, there wouldnt actually be a lot of collateral damage. They have 2 very good 10's/12's down in Colts 1sts now, Carmichael and Moss, who they should bring up into grade next year and show some faith in them by allowing them time to learn the rigours of the Shute Shield. It will do the club wonders in just showing their colts and juniors that there is an established pathway and that theyre prepared to be patient to see the long term benefit.

What's the story with Manly's JP du Plessis? He has scored a few tries recently. Has he been cut by the Rebels? Is he going home? How good is he?

Seem to recall a story a while back saying he is going home. Bit sad, he never lived up to the hype in either code.

I don't know Dave Harvey's short comings , but I do know he has been Gordon's most influential player in recent seasons , & virtually won a number of games on his
own via his goal kicking.

He's played his last game for Manly and is going home to connect with the Stormers.

Lupeni Siale has also played his last game - he's off to France.

Manly are missing some players now - it's a shame.
