Just add onto the page fucken stormers, fucken brumbies, fucken hurricanes and fucken highlanders. :p

It would be nice if/when the reds won the super 14 title. He could bring out the follow-up;
C*nts! I've rolled them all

Any plans for a t-shirt at the end of the season? Front cover on the front and the book open on the back. I would happily hand over some coin for one.

Why stop at Week 14?
Should also add fucken Bulls, fucken Tahs (almost, again)

Problem is 3 of those c*nts basically roll themselves (4 if you count the f*cken c*nt ankle), so hardly worth bragging rights. Stormers would be a worthy addition.

That's sounds incredibly promising but I don't really know what he means when he says he's "accurate" at the breakdown?

yeah, I always found it an interesting word for work at the breakdown. I think it is his ability to get the clean pilfer. So to make the tackle, or be there, reach down and grab hold of the ball instantly, before the ruck is formed, and snag the ball or the penalty.

It refers to positioning, doesn't it? I'd say George Smith was extremely "accurate" last year against Wales.

Yeah, it is a new term and it refers to the cleanness of making a jackal. Ie; strong base, one movement, committed etc etc.

It is fairly exciting news considering all kids are taught to jackal, even backs. I wonder how the little prick got so good at it.

If the Reds keep on winning, what are the chances of booking Suncorp come finals time? I can't see anybody expecting this scenario at the begining of the year.

just a thought.

I will get one too, great stuff. Would have been great to have a row of supporters behind Van on the bench wearing shirts with that on it

I know people say it's poor form to quote oneself, but what the heck. This from August 30th 2008:

Everyone agrees that Qld rugby has not had it's act together for some years but the incompetence of the past can't be corrected overnight. Don't forget the mess that Mooney and Co. have inherited.

Positive signs are there. Post S14 there has been a game against an Auckland NPC side, the Barbarians clash and now the four match development tour, with Mooney giving a few talented youngsters and some fringe players a more than decent chance to prove themselves. Qld does lack depth, that's no secret, but they won't miraculouly find bench strength overnight. They have to develop it!

Player retention has suffered a little but you can't compete against the Euro for players like Latham, Schifoske and Cordingley, who are in the twilight of their careers. No favours done by the ARU in Latham's case. Moore's departure will hurt but that was his call and Faiinga and Hanson will step up. The trick going forward will be retaining the talent that is currently being developed.

It may be 2010 but Qld will get there..wait and see.

The season isn't over and the Reds haven't made the finals yet but I'm damned happy we've come this far already.

yeah, and what I said way back in October 2004.

Some tough years ahead for the Reds. The period when they hire Eddie Jones will be the pit of it. But they'll bring in a young local guy after that. I'm thinking Phil Mooney or Steve Meehan. These guys will start the turnaround but it will take an experienced hard nosed coach, probably a Rod McQueen or Ewen McKenzie to really get them back to where they were when rugby went pro. They'll still struggle early, and lose games they should have, notably against the Tahs when a former leaguie will score a last minute try against them I think. But a couple of suprise wins against top teams like the Crusaders and the Chiefs (away) will give everyone hope. But it will probably take until the back to back home wins against gun Saffa sides the Bulls and Stormers for everyone to truly get behind them.

Not bad I reckon!

Benny Lucas has re-sign for 2 years. Relieved by that.

Utility Ben Lucas has bought into the Reds revolution by re-signing with Queensland for another two years.

In further evidence of the commitment to the Queensland cause at Ballymore, Lucas agreed to terms even though he is trapped behind the dynamic halves duo of Will Genia and Quade Cooper.

The 22-year-old knows he faces an uphill battle to force his way off the bench and into the starting side at halfback or flyhalf, but wants to be a part of the Reds revival under coach Ewen McKenzie.

Lucas is a talent. He started the 2009 Super 14 season in the Queensland No.9 jersey ahead of Genia but a rib injury handed the current acting-skipper his chance to shine.

"I see myself as a halfback that can cover a couple of positions such as flyhalf so obviously there is some good competition ahead of me at the moment," Lucas said.

"I'm very happy in Queensland. I like playing rugby here. I like living here.

"We've been through some tough times but you can see things are on the up. Queensland rugby is moving forward and I want to be a part of it."

That sentiment is running deep at Ballymore.

The prospect of being around for the good times after years of struggle is making the always difficult retention process slightly easier for Reds powerbrokers.

"We are a pretty tight-knit unit . . . and we have been through a lot together," Lucas said.

"It would be good if we can stick together and continue this form and continue to build on what we've done this year."

Lucas, who debuted for Queensland in 2008, said discussions with McKenzie, Reds general manager Daniel Herbert and Queensland great Tim Horan made his decision simple.

"Link (McKenzie) is a switched-on guy and he's got some good ideas on how I can build on my game," Lucas said.

"Dan Herbert was good, too, and speaking to blokes like Timmy Horan, who was a childhood hero, helps."

If we haven't nailed Hynes or Cooper, why ar we still persisting with Gasnier? This name keeps hanging around like a bad fart.
